Episode Description

Guys, you know you should be grateful. You've got the family, the work, the life. But you work so hard. Sound familiar?

I hear that line from men all the time. Women seem to do gratitude more naturally. Most of us men were wired from day one to fight in the jungle.

Today, I'm letting you stop waiting for permission. Then I'm sharing a silly ten-minute dog walk that turned into a flood of gratitude. Counting your blessings helps you sleep better, move more, and feel better about your life. Grab the leash.

Featured Story

Every morning I walk my two dogs, the sniffer and the dragger. Same block, same posts. They've got to check their messages.

The other day I started counting how many cars I've bought since I was 18. I couldn't, somewhere between 25 and 30.

Then motorcycles. Six, instantly. Two boats. Three campers, from a pop-up to a 40-foot diesel pusher. Seven houses, plus a 12-acre alpaca farm.

I wasn't bragging. It hit me fast. I've been blessed enough to work, earn, and choose.

Then I remembered my pastor. Twenty years and 180 million downloads, Scott. Do you have any idea what platform you have?

Important Points

  • Count your blessings a little every day. People who notice what's good in their lives sleep better and move more.

  • Stop waiting for permission. Decide what you want to do, do it, and change your mind later if you need to, guys.

  • Start with the stuff that's easy to count, like cars, homes, and toys. It's silly, but it gets gratitude flowing fast.

Memorable Quotes

  • Most of you are waiting for permission to do something. You've got it right now. Whatever you want to do, do it.

  • One day you'll be dead, and it won't matter anymore. For today, it's your life, and it matters. Decide and do it.

  • Exercise is one of those things that solves every problem. Lift weights, do some cardio, and see for yourself.

Scott's Three-Step Approach

  • Take a ten-minute walk with no phone, and let your mind wander to what you've been given over the years.

  • Pick one simple category, like cars or homes, and count every one you've had, then let the gratitude for it land.

  • Move from the stuff to the people, your health, your kids, your work, and thank someone for one of them today.
