Episode Description
You built something good. You're making money, people count on you, and you're proud of it. But life keeps getting in the way.
So when do you finally get to do what you started all this for?
Today we're talking about your founder's vision. What it is, why busy never goes away, and how to protect it from every detour on your path. I'm giving you one simple question to ask before you say yes to anything new. Know your vision. Defend it. Live it. Let's go.
Featured Story
Years ago, I sat in a Tony Robbins event, Date with Destiny. We did what everybody does. Write down your values. Honesty, integrity, love, the big list.
After doing this work professionally for a long time, I noticed something. Every value people write down either moves them away from what they don't like or toward what they want.
Nobody writes down the values they're living today. The real ones. The ones that show up in how they run their business and their life right now.
That gap changed how I coach. Until you see where you really stand, you can't grow into anything new, and you won't.
Important Points
Success doesn't bring a quiet place at the end of the rainbow. The better you get, the more people want from you.
Ask one question before every opportunity: does this move me closer to the life and business I want, or further away?
Write down the values you're living today first, then set the values you want to grow into over the next few years.
Memorable Quotes
Everything changes in an instant. That's why you need a vision. When you do the work, you have to start living it.
People say they're always running around putting out fires. I tell them, yeah, but you lit most of them yourself.
Whatever vision you have, you're supposed to go live it. This is not some imaginary thing. Listen, you're in charge.
Scott's Three-Step Approach
Know your vision by writing down how you want your life and business to look, your values, and who you care for.
Defend that vision by asking whether each new opportunity moves you closer to it, and saying no when it doesn't.
Live your vision today instead of someday, and give yourself time to grow into it as the old patterns fall away.
