Is that pesky login box blocking your iTunes? Don’t worry - we’ve got a bit of experience with iTunes and can help you out. Here are some of the most common causes and solutions to this problem: • Case #1: Your Login Information is Incorrect • Case #2: Your Premium Membership Has Expired Due To Payment Error • Case #3: You Canceled Your Premium Membership Case #1: Your Login Information is Incorrect
Please be aware that the login box built into iTunes is sensitive to capitalization of your username and password, so please make sure you enter your login information exactly as you provided when you created your account. For example, if you registered with username “JohnSmith123” please make sure to include the capital “J” and “S” letters. A good way to check this is to refer to your original “Welcome” letter received when you joined Motivation To Move. If you’d like help retrieving your information, please Submit a “Lost Password” Request to receive an instant reminder of your MTM login. Note: Even if iTunes is rejecting your password, you may still find that your login works on the MTM website. This is because the website is less “picky” than iTunes. If you are able to log in to the MTM Website but are rejected from iTunes, you may want to Submit a “Lost Password” Request to make sure you have the correct capitalization of your login. If you have verified your login information and are still having troubles, please see Case #2 below. Case #2: Your Premium Membership Has Expired Due To Payment Error
If you’ve verified your username and password, and you have not recently cancelled your Premium Membership, there is a good chance that your membership may be suspended because of a billing error. Of course we always try to contact you several times before a suspension occurs. However, if you feel you may have missed these emails here is an easy way to check your account status and fix your iTunes login problem.
Case #3: You Canceled Your Premium Membership
Although you have canceled from the MTM Premium Membership, your iTunes program is likely still subscribed to the MTM Premium Member’s Feed. This means that every time iTunes searches for any new podcasts (frequency of searching depends on your settings), MTM is included in this search. That’s why your program is still asking for a password. If you recall, when you first became a Premium Member, we walked you through a few steps that showed you how to “tell” iTunes to automatically download your Premium Programs. Now, you will simply need to “tell” iTunes to stop looking for these programs, and thus stop asking you for a password. This is a simple fix. If you missed this information in the Cancellation Confirmation email we sent when you cancelled, here’s how to remove the pop-up box.
1. Bypass the username and password pop-up screen.
When the username and password box pops up in iTunes, click “Cancel”. If it keeps popping up, this is because your iTunes settings are trying to download every single new program on the MTM feed (this has to do with your settings). iTunes will ask you for a username and password for each Premium program that it is trying to download, so you may need to hit Cancel several times.
2. Unsubscribe from the Premium feed.
Once you’ve cleared this pop-up box, select your Premium podcast from Motivation To Move or MTM. (The title of this podcast should be called something similar to “MTM Premium | Combo”.
In the bottom left corner of iTunes, click “Unsubscribe”. After you’ve done this, iTunes will no longer look for new Premium updates, and the pop-up box will not appear.
