Oh No It’s A Solo!

I really should say OH YEAH it’s a solo because today my flight instructor finally cut me loose and let me take the Cessna 172 SP into the sky all by myself.  What a rush!

Actually… it really wasn’ that exciting.  Don’t get me wrong - I was smiling ear to ear and even startled the Air Traffic Controller when I shouted my excitment outloud just as I hit the radio button and asked to take off.

Today when my instructor asked “Are you ready for this?” and I said, “Where do I drop you off?” - I knew that it was time to go it alone.

As a student pilot my solo requirements are limited to 3 take offs and 3 landings and that’s when the training kicked in.  After 88 practice landings, some not so pretty, and 19.2 hours in the air - in the end, the only thing that was different during my flight today was my instructor was not in the plane with me.  And of course the surprise of having my T-shirt cut off my back in celebration by my fellow students and the intstructors.  Sure glad I’ve been working on my abs.  smile

What a day.  A dream turned into a goal.  A goal acheived.  A new beginning to an incredible journey.

On this weeks Motivation To Mow Show I’m honored to be able to share my journey with you - and ride with you on yours!
