Are you a Monday exerciser? Most folks are and that means today it the busiest day for health clubs. So why does everybody exercise on Monday? For folks who workout regularly it’s just another day. But for lots of others, it’s a guilt day when we pay for our weekend sins. Over the years I’ve noticed the most popular workout days pretty much run in this order: Monday, Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Good to know if you would prefer to avoid crowds. Personally, over the years I’ve learned I have the most energy and the most drive on Monday so it’s a good workout day for me. However, I’ve also learned that I really don’t like the crowds found at most health clubs on Monday. So what to do? Well if you’re an early riser get to the the gym before work if you can. It’s never as busy in the morning so you’ll find lots of equipment to get the job done. Plus - the folks who workout early are on a personal mission so there’s not a lot of small talk. Since my schedule allows for some flexibility you’ll most likely find me sweating up the equipment in mid-afternoon between lunch and dinner. Of course if you would prefer to avoid the crowds all together - why not just avoid Monday and hit the gym on Tuesday. Not only will that give you more time on Monday to get some work done, you’ll enjoy the time you spend at the club tomorrow even more. I know it sounds simple - but sometimes simple works. |
