When it comes to weight loss, I’m convinced that most of us already know everything we need to know to be successful… even if we won’t admit it. I was visiting my Chiropractor this morning getting my weekly adjustment when I fell into a conversation with his wife. She had been trying to lose a few pounds and was asking me to give her my best advice… so that she could ignore it and get back to telling me what doesn’t work. It’s OK. I’m used to it. So I finally said, listen, you’ve lost weight before, we all have, what worked for you in the past? She said, “I don’t know.” Well to that I pulled out my secret weapon and asked, “I know you don’t know, but if you did… what would it be?” Well her eyes twinkled and her body seemed to stand taller. Then she said, “I exercised more and stopped eating bread. That’s what worked for me.” Good I said. Here’s my advice is… do it again…and repeat. It couldn’t be THAT simple could it? Hmmmm? Hey, it’s all about moving – do some now… so you can do more later. |
