Do you ever feel like your daily bread is ruining your diet? Some high protein diets make carbs seem almost illegal.

I’ve been trimming down a couple of pounds that last week or so and as usual I announced it to the world. 

I figure if everybody knows I’m on a diet, they’ll ask, “How am I doing?” And that’ll help keep me on my diet.  But one day last week I was enjoying coffee and a bagel when one of those everybody’s I told walked in… and said, “What are you doing eating a bagel, I thought you where on a diet?”

Hmmm… since when did we have to have special food to be on a diet?  I like bagels.  They’re crunchy – and when we’re on a diet, our bodies like food with texture… it’s more satisfying.  And the new low-fat cream cheese has lots of flavor, something else our bodies like when we’re on a diet. 

From my point of view, if I’m going to reduce the amount of food I eat to lose weight, I’m going to eat the food that I like.
