As humans, it’s been well documented that our lives are driven by the twin forces… pain and pleasure. And when it comes to exercise, both of those are making us fat.
It’s a concept as old a time. When our caveman ancestors created fire… there was pleasure in the form of heat and lots of warm food to eat. But it wasn’t long before somebody fell into the fire and learned it’s other side. It’s simple evolution – stay away from pain. Seek pleasure. It terms of exercise, beginners find that working out sometimes hurts so your caveman brain says stay away and eat chocolate instead. But the truth is, evolution is on your side. It’s survival of the fittest. Exercise makes you stronger and your body rewards you with its amazing ability to not only reduce the pain, but to also increase pleasure by releasing the same chemicals that you get when you eat chocolate. So start slow and give your body a chance to recognize that you’re doing something good for it… and then enjoy the sweet taste of success.
Hey, it’s all about moving – do some now… so you can do more later.
