Right now, one in three of us is hungry. So you might be wondering, here in America, home of the buy one get one free and land of the diet, why your diet is not working? With over one third of Americans on a diet at any time, folks are always asking why they’re not losing weight. After all, they’re hardly eating… and that could be part of the problem. Here’s what I mean. If you eat too little, your body thinks it’s being starved and holds on to the fat, kind of like a dog who’s chewing on something he’s not supposed to, and just won’t let go. Our bodies need a minimum number of calories just to do the basics like breathing, thinking and of course deciding how much to eat. Most us require between 1200 and 1500 calories a day depending on our size – spread out throughout the day in several meals. Any less… our body goes on strike. So don’t cross that line – if you’re not losing weight, check to make sure eating enough… and not too much… which is tomorrow’s story. Hey, it’s all about moving – do some now… so you can do more later. |
