WHAT'S THE CHALLENGE?

The 100 Days of Exercise Challenge was started by MTM members for MTM members and last year was such a success we’re doing it again in 2007. The 100 Days of Exercise Challenge is a solid commitment to yourself to take one step forward each day to improving your health. The goal? A healthier YOU by the end of the Challenge.

Here are the "Rules" (in the concise words of fellow member kfclark)

1. Commit to doing exercise for 100 Consecutive Days
2. Build in rest days 1-3 days per week
3. Plan a variety of activities to always have options
4. Post your results daily after exercise

ANY activity is allowed as long as it is an intentional exertion of effort resulting in prolonged heightened breathing patterns and lasting no less than 20 minutes.

THE 100 DAYS OF EXERCISE CHALLENGE FITS YOUR LIFE

Simply follow any healthy, strengthening exercise plan, whichever that may be for you. Yoga, running, spinning, walking, swimming, aerobics - it doesn't matter as long as you make one healthy step forward each day. For example, if you feel comfortable working out 3-5 days a week, great! The point is that when you think you can squeeze toward that 5th day, push for it! By the end of the challenge you’ll see a strong metamorphosis in the strength and endurance of your body.

DOES 100 DAYS MEAN I'LL EXERCISE EVERY SINGLE DAY?

Don't worry, you won't have to work out for 100 consecutive days (unless you can!). In forming your routine, build in a Rest Day or two each week, listening to your body's needs. But BE HONEST! This Challenge can serve as your reminder that there is a difference between having a muscle-repairing productive Rest Day or just a "lazy day".

HOW DO I KEEP TRACK?

You will start your own Journal that is specific to your accomplishments and troubles. The days are counted consecutively, starting on your particular Day 1. Try to report each day what type of activity you've taken, or if you had a Rest Day. You can also discuss any problems you may be encountering, or any moments of pride you may stumble upon.

And if you’re having a tough time pushing yourself one day, just remember you're not alone. The Motivation To Move Community is the most supportive and informative group of people you'll come across, and we support you and your goals 100%. You'll get creative suggestions on how to keep active for any type of lifestyle, and most importantly, how to keep you engaged in those activities. Success is about enjoying the process and we'll show you how.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

We’d be happy to have you aboard! If you’re ready to make some changes this year and could use support, click on over to the Motivation To Move Community and join the 100 Days of Exercise Challenge. It’s completely free and only requires website registration.

While the official start date is January 8th, you are free to start anytime you’re ready to start moving. That’s what makes the challenge so fun and more importantly, why it works so well. It’s all up to you - and we support you.
