Yep, “ZEN” is the theme for the week. I’ve got a lot going on to finish up the last week of class and I don’t need any drama. So my mission is to find serenity and a zen mind in the midst of chaos.
Good luck in your last week of classes. You are going to do great. I really miss college. If I lived closer to my old Art College I would so keep taking classes. You are very lucky. My college years hold some of the best memories for me. I hope the same happens for you.
And, as far as group projects go, your instructors usually have a sixth sense about who is doing most of the work and who is not. It’s evident in all of the work said individuals have been turning in over the past semester. I’ve been there. I know how frustrated you must be feeling with that. I hope all of that works out for you. Take care, Jenni.
I’m Done!!! With my presentation at least. All I have to do is practice it with the group at 1, and then do it at 3. Then I am done with that group. Wahoo.
I got to thinking, and looking forward to moving, while I was eating dinner. It all started with thinking about having a gym with more than one of every piece of equipment, but anyway I started planning a post move game plan.
1. Unpack
2. Clean, clean, clean
3. Create a great workout/yoga practice space
So today is Wednesday, half way through the week. I had a rocky start to the day, but thought I’d see where I was at on my goals for the week.
1. Sleep-Ok, still need more
2. “Me” time- 6 hours driving Monday, TV night last night, going to try a new recipe tonight hopefully
3. Finish last week of classes strong-Failing miserably
4. Not worrying about what I have no control over-doing better, still needs somework
5. Yoga- relaxing Monday night, meditation last night, sun salutations this morning
Well, I’ve mad some progress, but there’s still work to be done the second half of the week. After 4pm today, I’m going to cross 4 off my list. The neditation last night really helped with that too. I didn meditation in goddess pose, relaxed in Child’s and then accidently feel asleep in Savasana. That’s okay, it was bedtime and I was exhausted. Still am in fact.
Meditation in Goddess Pose- I loving doing in meditaion in goddess pose. All the time we see and ask ourselves,"How do I want to feel?” Well I want to feel like the goddess I know I am, and meditating on that in goddess pose is like double reinforcement to me. Awesome! I’ll have to do it again tonight.
That looks like a delightful way to relax. How long have you been doing Yoga, Jenni? You seem very very knowledgeable about it. My gym is offering summer yoga specials and I’m seriously considering taking a couple sessions since it’s 6 classes for only $25. I’ve never done Yoga and have always been curious about it. That price makes it silly not to try it, ya know? Are you a “Master”?

I started practicing yoga in 2001 after I hurt my back/hip. I kinda got out of it for a bit when I started college , but I’m back. I just started with going to a class at a gym, it was a great introduction. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of research and trying new things. I would love to get my instructor’s certificate one day, but first I want to really develop my practice and knowledge. My body still has many limitations, espcailly my hips, so I’m also working through those to make training easier. I’m working up towards some of the more advanced poses and also more of the inner strengthening that goes along with yoga once you get past the basics of the poses.
Presentation was horrible. The guys still didn’t have their slides done and actually made up stuff for uncertianty calculations. So bad. The whole presentation was a hack job and it showed. I mad some mistakes on my data analysis, but the instructor was easy on me about it. At least I’ll have a presentation to do myself and make up for all the horrible inaccuracies. But I’m done with that now, did my peer evaluations, and I’m done.
SO for my “me” time today, I took a 30 min walk and then I had a 1 hour phone conversation with my best friend. We both needed it. I had a horrible morning and she’s sleep deprived from trying to finish her thesis. We both can’t wait for the week to be over and the weekend to be here. I also had a special treat of some mango sorbet. Yum. Meditation and relaxation tonight.
Great message. Jenni - sounds like you made the best of a bad situation. You learned from the experience, you acted with a great deal of maturity and integrity, so now you can put it behind you and move on. Enjoy some ‘Me’ Time.
