Hey Rachel and Bree. Where do you get Former Fattie to listen to? I can not find it on I-tunes.

I really like Fitness Rocks with Dr. Monte Ladner. He covers the science behind fitness, usually explaining a recent study from a medical journal.  Last week he blasted the latest study saying that the Atkins Diet was the best for weight loss.  He has also covered topics like should you take antioxidant supplement, should you drink milk to get your calcium, and is it okay to be overweight if you are fit.  Informative and enjoyable.

Hi guys,

Great topic!  I have very eclectic tastes in podcasts.  I tend to prefer short podcasts that come out fairly frequently (hence why I love MTM so much).  Here are some of my favourites, in rough categories.  All of them are available on iTunes.

“Food" for the body (fitness and health):
Fitness Attack
Healthy Cooking Video

“Food" for the mind (science, business, etc.):
60-Second Science
CBC Radio: Quirks & Quarks
Discovery News
Epicurious: Food and Drink
Grammar Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips
National Geographic Minutes
NPR: Motley Fool Profiles

“Food" for the soul (inspiration):
Inspiring Words of Encouragement (by Zig Ziglar)
Rick Steves’ Europe Video
Smarter By The Minute
The Energy Minute with Jon Gordon

Keep ‘em coming, guys!  I’m loading up my podcast list with tons of new material!

Cheers,
Julie

I’m downloading manic mommies right now, I’ll let you know what I think, thanks for the suggestion.

I’m glad you found Former Fattie, Darlene. I have a lot of fun on that one. He’s a great guy.

I’ll check out a number of the ones in here - primarily the one I listen to besides MTM is Fitness Rocks - which I find is an excellent companion to MTM since it goes into the nuts and bolts science stuff.

As far as non-health related my favorite would have to be the UkeCast ( shameless plug smile ) - We are celebrating our one year “birthday” in the latest episode.  If you listen be sure to stick it out through the first song - it’s not really representative of the rest (but it is fun).

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

I listen to:

BBC From our own Correspondent (comments from BBCs world correspondents)
BBC Documentary Archive (flagship BBC radio documentaries)
BBC Digital Planet (techno news from the BBC)
Meditation Station (music and yoga for relaxing)
Tiki Bar TV (video podcast drink recipes with a weird humor)

... and that great, free workout music Podrunner (mix at different paces for work outs).

And I have to look at the podcast of Tone Damli Aaberge (a Norwegian pop artist), just because she is so stunning.

Hi
Just came across an intresting site
Podcastfitness.com

It is a place where one can get the music you like to work out to with a voice over from a persnol trainer in your ear telling you what to do.  All of this for a fee of course.

I have tried other fitness podcasts...lol...but you know, for me, scott has really set the standard...so I will listen to other episodes but have never committed to them. BUT - I recently found podcast from Renaissance Unity Church and absolutely love it...it all applies to living in harmonic prosperity.

I have been getting in to listening to music podcasts right now.  Here are some of my favorites;
“The Roadhouse” The finest blues you will ever hear. Great mix of blues music.
“The Chillcast” with Anji Bee.  Great music to chill out to.
“Accident Hash” with CC Champman.  Best Rock N Roll Mix Music
“Mommycast Music.” Nice mix of Rock.
“Music for Massage.” Some more great music to chill and relax too.

What are some of your favorite music podcast shows ?
