Hi Julie, thanks for sharing your story with us. Sounds like you’ve had a hard year but, as Paula says, if you were superfit once (and it wasn’t very long ago) you will get it back pretty quickly.
A friend of mine is in Cincinatti right nw and has been telling me about this week’s weather - it’s crazy! 70 plus degrees to 40 in the space of a few days…
Thanks for sharing. I would’ve gotten back to you sooner, but the weather kept me off last night. I was picturing you so much taller, not sure why. I like running on the treadmill more also, but like the challenge of outside. I’m beginning to crave challenges, just to see. My hubby thinks I’m crazy, he’s right of course, but it’s fun in my world.
Are you considering adding a morning element to your routine? Do share, I’m always looking for more ideas.
I haven’t seen the BL DVD, but I did read the book. I’ll be interested in hearing what the DVD is like. The diet portion in the book is idiotic, for me they allow only 970 calories a day. Now who’s crazy?
LOL, ok so the secret is out that I am not super tall....darn. But hey, you can keep that visual in your head if you like!! Yesterday I looked into what is available in this area to add onto my workouts, there is a Spin class at the local Y but it doesn’t start enrolling for I think another month and then there is a cardio kickboxing at a local Martial arts place that looked interesting. Now I just need to decide what to do with the baby during these times lol.
So the BL diet is only 970 calories? NO wonder why they can drop 20 pounds in a week heh?! I will let you know how I like the dvd Workout.....
Today I ran 3 miles at 6mph (Fastest yet...given my short legs lol)....good thing I work out in the privacy of my own home, I was yelling at myself “Keep going, you can do it"-Like being my own personal trainer at the same time....heck, it worked. I didn’t stop. You gotta do what works.
Julie Martial arts are a great workout, most will burn 500 calories and thats for a fit person! Spinning is even better 500 calories for a half hour! Keep up the good work, keep on trying to beet that clock!
Hi Julie. Don’t know what your weather is today but I’m guessing it’s darned cold! You really are motivated! I’m not a runner but I did start jogging/walking to the Couch to 5K podcast and I got that runner’s high. It’s almost like you can fly!
I did something really funny on one of my walks the other day. I was walking along at fast pace on the front lawn of a company. There’s a lot of traffic so I have to get off the street and walk on the grass sometimes. I was in my own world of great music and adrenaline and as I was switching the songs on my ipod, I tripped and did a flying jumping Gazelle-like manuever. A car drove by at that instant and I landed on both feet. I turned around and saw that I had just tried to walk though a low empty metal sign frame. Kinda like jumping hurdles blind. I’m sure those people must’ve laughed their heads off! I just kept walking and laughed to myself. LOL!
Another day of movement for me, I really had a hard time motivating myself to go do my run today for some reason, but then I lost the drama and just did it!!!! Felt really good once I got going, I found my groove and actually had a GREAT run today!! I ran 3.5 miles and felt those muscles working...my running posture was great and I actually feel lighter. I totally rocked it out today, running good, and listening to some really upbeat music (Um, can’t wait for the next podcast....I hate waiting!!! lol)
Tonight I am doing a few errands with my family and I am making a hearty Potato Soup for my hubby today (brrrr, it is only 32 out!!) and I plan on eating light....afterall, would hate to ruin my diet over the holiday!!!
Sending out my holiday wishes for everyone!!! I will be on the forum during the weekend...I can’t stay away for too long

Sometimes you just have to make yourself stand up and move - isn’t it great when you are rewarded for your efforts.
Julie,
I had the same experience today. I also found out I was double jointed, you see… I kicked my own butt and like you, lost the drama. Good on ya for motivating yourself to do what had to be done. Happy Bunny Day!
Great job finding your “groove” (I love that word) in your run today! I love that feeling when you notice your body seems lighter, whether that’s because you’re stronger that day or your body actually is lighter (or both!).
LOL Shawn, you made me chuckle at the mental picture of the “possibilities of being double jointed” in that regard....thanks to Shawn, Paula, Jonathan, Colleen, for your recent support!!! Today is a rest day for me.....I figured that Sunday, Easter, would be a great day to get a long workout in-figured I’d move my rest days to Saturdays from now on. No Easter candy for me this year, that is ok-I don’t even have a taste for it this time.
The baby sends you a wet kiss back!!! (With bits of graham cracker mixed in there too.....
Today I ran 5 miles!!!!! That has been the most distance I have had yet!!!! I am patting my sweaty back on that one. I decided that this week I need to kick up my workouts a notch or two. I am picking up that Biggest Loser workout DVD tomorrow and plan on doing that in the mornings (hope I like the DVD!!) and my run in the afternoon. Figured if I boost up my workout a bit, I will start melting off more of these pesky pounds!!!
This has been a good Easter....I never have felt this much relief and optimism-emotionally, spiritually, and physically. It really made me think on how much God has blessed me and how smart He is-He created a wonderous Human form!!!

What a wonderful Easter message. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
Happy Monday, Julie! Looks like you had a great weekend. How much snow did you get? I had just over 6 inches in Twinsburg. My folks in Chagrin Falls had over 30”. I hope you had a great weekend. I’ve got alot to catch up on.
Thanks to all of you for your kind words-there is an abundance of “Niceness” on MTM land!! Pook-holy moly, you got 6 inches of snow!?!?! We lucked out down here in Akron, we maybe got a dusting....I think it felt more like Christmas than Easter....another one of Ohio’s funny jokes.
