Hey Jules, just saw you popped in my thread so I’m popping into yours to say I love the new avatar! You are looking fine! Stay warm this weekend. I see the snow is already starting to fall as I look out my office window in Solon, Ohio. Ugh.... so sick of this! Hope you didn’t put your parka away. You’re going to need it!
I’ve got my parka, my snow shoes, my emergency flares, emergency hot cocoa, and furry hat....I am prepared!!!! Hope you drive home safely from work, I am not going ANYWHERE today.
You are so lucky to be at home already. The UPS guy said the roads are horrid. And now my boss is arguing with the secretary about letting us leave early. Stuff like “we should be used to it, I have a business to run, blah blah blah"… and now he’s on his way in! That jerk! Grrrrrrr you are so lucky to be a stay-at-home-mom! You’re your own boss.
lol.. your thread is entertaining as well as inspiring… but I don’t think I’ll go back to the start - 85+ pages!! Wow!
None of us northern people will be without our exercise this weekend. We are expecting another dump of the white stuff up here too...30- 50 cm… where’s the shovel… push ... scoop ... toss.... repeat!
Thanks RJ and thanks Catherine for stopping by!!!! I am hanging in there today, I have witnessed 6 of my neighbors attempt to go out in these “Near blizzard” conditions here and get stuck in ditches 2 feet from their houses. The Cleveland news clearly stated that no one should even be on the roads...sooooooo, I and my family have hunkered down. So far we have about 14 inches of snow on the ground with horrible snow drifts. Nasty stuff. I decided to work up a mini-sweat and did some weights along with some new moves suggested by that Shape magazine. I did what I could without all that fancy resistance bands, medicine balls, and swiss ball they had. It was me and my hand weights. Feeling sore already!!!! I keep telling myself the more muscle I have, the more calories I can burn, and in return, the more food I can enjoy without too much guilt!!!! Woo hoo.
I know Emmi is in the same boat with the snow and all...anyone else get this storm as well????? ROLL ON SPRING!!!!!!!
Here in northern Vermont, we are getting freezing rain. Everything is getting coated with ice. It is then supposed to turn to snow. So, I’m not going anywhere tonight, just downstairs to the treadmill.
We had freezing rain 2 days ago(I’m in Montreal, about an hour from Vermont), today were having a snow storm. hang in there Julie, it’s winters last stand!
Luckily RJ, I got my tongue unfroze from the flagpole and now am free to move about!!! The weather didn’t slow me down any with my workouts, still got those in (being snowed in helped a bit!!!) and feeling stronger every day. I think I made a new physical goal, in the beginning of my journey it was just to lose the weight from my pregnancy, in the middle it was to build endurance, and I think now it is to get those muscles growing and more definition. I think I have fallen in love with my strength training routine. (well, it is a love-hate thing) I have 1 more pound to go to reach my WW goal (Pesky one pound grrrrrrr) and from then in it is just fat-free gravy!!!!!!!
Had a good workout, did new ab exercises, weights, toning exercises, and got a run in today. I have some extra motivation, I went shopping yesterday (hubby said he wanted form fitting clothes on me instead of the too-big stuff) and I got smaller sizes in both the tops and bottoms. Hello size xtra small!!!!!! Hubby gave me a thumbs up on the outfits.
