Dinner was really good!!! It was nice spending time together that didn’t include me in a hot kitchen!!!!!

Today I did
60 minutes cardio
A weight routine from my Shape magazine titled “Bikini ready workout” Hellllooo bikini!!!

I was looking at that workout last night. I totally have all the equipment to do it too. Maybe I’ll give it a whirl. We’ll have to compare notes! What did you think?

You’re stuffed shells sound yummy. Share?

Drats!!! I was hoping to pull that off.  Hubby and I went to the library together today (such a proud moment, getting the hubby to embrace literacy!!) and got a few cookbooks (Weight Watchers cookbook and Rachel Ray) and the 9th Janet Evanovich book.  Came home, got a good run and workout in today and feel good.  Really focused on getting lean proteins in today which helped fuel me.  I have been checking out all sorts of fitness magazines getting ideas for some great toning moves I can do at home without a whole bunch of fancy fitness equiptment-I like the Bosu ball and well, hand weights.  Having all that other stuff would be great, but this chickie doesn’t have the cash to develop her home gym right now.  I really like Shape magazine and am looking into perhaps subscribing to a few more.  Fitness and health is addictive once you realize how fun it can be.

Julie, because of my shoulder injury I couldn’t lift any extra weights and believe me I got a workout on Monday using virtually no equipment. There was a towel on the floor that I ran around, a stool that I swung my leg over, and a mat to lie on to do the ab work. Oh, and I did carry a weighted ball from a bench and sidestep two steps over and put it on the floor, then back to the bench to touch it and then back to get the ball and then put it back on the bench. I also used the bench to support one foot while I did split lunges but you could probably find something at home that would work.

So I agree with Shawn that there’s lots you can do with your own body weight.

Hey there Chickie. Did you survive the ice storm? What a doozy. I also have to chime in about Shape Magazine. I’ve been a subscriber for the past 3 years. I love that’s it features “real” healthy women and not skinny rails and many of the workout routines can be done in the comfort of your own home using minimal to no equipment at all.
So how have you been?

Hey Guys and EMMI!!!!!  Gosh that ice storm was a doozy!!!  I think we have been hit storm after storm and well I see mini-signs of spring (My flowers are popping up already).  I have been SUPER busy lately (Hence my absence!!) but I have been getting my workouts in and all is well on the diet front.  I really am enjoying weights, I am finally at the point where resistance training is fun and well, like a habit.  I have been busy helping prepare for my sister-in-law’s baby shower I am helping throw and well, ladies, you know how much work goes into that.  I am helping with food, games, treats...you name it.  Lots of errands, shopping, cooking...sigh.  I do subsribe to Shape and I just signed up for Fitness magazine as well.  I like “Health and fitness magazines” that actually have fitness and health in them besides the usual advertisement bonanza and the beauty/fashion stuff that aparently all women are supposed to be interested in.

Thanks for checking in on me...once this shower is over (Saturday) I will be able to post more!!!

Let’s hope it’s not that much snow since whatever you get, we usually get a day later and I’m headed to and from NYC today through SAturday.

I’ll have to look for Shape after all the good reviews.
