So I listened to this episode and thought, 5.30am, that’s pretty early. But it is daylight here then...so maybe oneday.

I set my alarm for 6am, my usual time. And off to sleep I went.

I woke up at 5.30AM!!!!! Gee, thanks Scott! I already knew my plan was to check my emails, then get the boys moving off to school.

So I wander downstairs, and there’s an email from Scott himself! Well, I nearly fell off the chair. Talk about the universe working with you!!!

It really was a wonderful way to start the day.

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

The only 3:30 am I ever see is if I stay up late for it.

I haven’t listened to that Daily Boost yet, but if I set my alarm for 5:30, I’d be getting less than 5 hours of sleep!  Oops!

Cheers,
Julie

You remind me of my sister - If only we all could be so lucky!  My alarm goes off, and the first thought in my mind - “ALREADY?”

You guys are so funny!  My “alarm” is actually a CD of ocean waves.  I hate waking up to loud buzzing or ringing.

The CD turns on at 4:30 a.m., and by 4:45 I’m awake and out of bed.  By 5:00 I’m on the treadmill!

Of course, this means the light MUST be out by no later than 9:00 p.m. (8:30 is preferable!) grin

You have the exact same schedule as I do Judy!  But if I’m up the dogs have to suddenly pee soooo bad!  I have a fancy Zen alarm clock that hits a suspended metal bar slowly and quietly at first, then faster and louder.  Well, at least that’s what it did when I first got it.  Now it just whales on the bar and I jolt out of bed.  You just can’t buy good Zen anymore!

Bed time is 9pm, but I almost never make it!

I used one of those Zen clocks for several years and loved it!  I used mine until it decided to set off the alarm whenever it wanted to!  You’re right.  You just can’t buy good Zen anymore!  LOL

After enough nights of it going off at 2:18 a.m. or 10:47 p.m. or whenever, I stopped using the alarm feature.  That’s when I switched to using the CD.

Yeah, I probably should do that too, but it cracks me up to hear this device that was meant to gently and peacefully send out a call to meditaion get all its agressions out in one massive whack!

LOL!  LOL

When my Zen clock was in its death throes, it started making a very audible “Click” when the little hammer would rear back ready to hit the chime.  That loud click was almost worse than a loud buzzer or bell!  I would jerk awake when I heard it.  confused

My alarm clock is one of those iRadio type things that has two alarms in it and works with the iPod.  It’s a nice piece to have, since my day usually has two starts to it (one for when my son goes to school, the other for when I finally give up on getting any decent sleep for the day and head to work).  The only problem is that I like to listen to the Guided Motivation right before I go to bed.  When the alarm goes off in the morning, the iPod goes to the first song on the full playlist - AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell”.  It’s one heck of a way to wake up in the morning, I’m telling you!  It sort of has that Zen Gong start to it, but I try and turn it off before it goes into the full guitars.  Too much for first thing in the morning! gulp
