Welcome Back Lisa!  It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation all around.  I hope to do something similar with my kids one day (in about 10 years!).  What an inspiration.  Good luck at the gym tomorrow.  Suzanne

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

Thanks everyone. It is good to be back. I cleared out my office of personal effects today in preparation for training my replacement tomorrow. My boss emailed me while I was gone to ask if I would train for 3 weeks...I dodn’t bother to respond. I plan on keeping 7/13 as my last day of work there...yesssss!

I spent 35 minutes on a treadmill today after I left the office and then a half hour of shoulders, chest and triceps with Mike while my husband and son worked out elsewhere at the gym. That was the first time that all three of us worked out there at the same time. Mike was actually kind today and didn’t push as hard as usual. I really have missed my routine there.

Ella, I did not gain the dreaded 200 pounds of my nightmare and probably lost a few inches if not pounds while I was there. I also think I am retaining some water as I found it really hard to drink enough water to stay hydrated. There is nothing quite like drinking 100 oz of water in a day and not having to pee once...a little freaky.

I am back to work tomorrow for ONLY 7 more days of starting at 3:30 in the morning and training some one new. Then it is off to the gym for cardio and back and biceps tomorrow. Hopefully Mike is still in welcome back mode.

Beth--Mike pushes hard and certainly gets me to do far more than I would do on my own, but his bark is far worse than his bite and he has a great sense of humor in the process. So while I may camp on his threats, please know that he doesn’t always work with his clients this way.  I have seen him be incredibly gentle with clients in their 60’s and 70’s.  If I hold out that long, who knows, he might be nice to me too!

Lisa - absolutely don’t work past the 13th! She’s ridiculous for asking you to train for THREE WEEKS!! Oh my gosh, it’s so good you’re getting out of there!

100 oz of water a day and no pee! That’s a lot of sweating you were doing there. Be sure to rehydrate now, indeed. I too have a really hard time staying hydrated. Even just the walking I’ve been doing has been enough to put me on the edge.

You’re doing great, Lisa, in so many ways!! July 13: Lisa Independence Day!!

I lOVE the trhead party idea!  Didn’t get a chance to post my back and biceps workout and 45 minutes on the treadmill last night.  It is good to back in the swing of things.  I think I am going to pay a price for weight training 3 day sin a row even if it is for different muscle groups but it will be worth it.  Mike is a poplular trainer at our gym, so I had to grab the sessions when I could this week until I get back into my regular time slots next week.

It’s 1 day down and 6 to go until I am done with this job!  My boss still wants me to stick around for another 3 weeks to train, but that is NOT going to happen!

Can’r wait for legs and cardio tonight.  Mike told me that he is taking it easy in my this week since I have been gone for 10 days, but I didn’t notice that much!

Yes - Thread Party for Lisa’s Independence Day - We’ll just have to add another Holiday - Friday July 13 Freedom Day.  We can have a virtual workout together, then snack on fresh fruit and veggies.

I’m so glad your dream of gaining 200 pounds was avoided.  I’m sure you lost some weight with all the physical labor you were doing.

Yesterday, I had more fun doing legs on the racquetball court with Mike. I trained 3 days in a row with him and I am now very sore. It feels great to be back and to get back to my routine! It’s a rest day today and tomorrow. I am getting ready to attack my last 5 days of work with a vengeance!

I was just sitting here doing my MTM homework and found myself getting very grateful for this forum and for Scott, Carlyn and all the moderator’s hard work.  I truly am motivated and compelled to take the best possible care of my body, mind and soul that I can.  This forum has done more than just get my excercising, it has provided movement in ALL aspects of my life.  I just wanted to take the time to thank ALL of you for that gift in my life.  What a blessing it is that people I don’t know and may never meet in person are being so instrumental on a daily basis to improving the quality of my life and the content of my character.  I just wanted to thank you all for that.

I am so excited that I made the decision to leave my job and move on to another phase of my life.  I think that decision would have taken much longer had it not been for all of you.  Thanks again!

Lisa

It’s the people on this forum that makes it easy to be here and give back for all the support that I’ve received.  You have contributed a great amount and we are fortunate to have you here,

I did my weekly weighin today and lost a few more pounds.  YESSSSSS!!!! I looked in the mirror and honestly say that I love and appreciate the body that I have right now on the way to the one I am working toward having.  It is such a great feeling!

Now, someday in the future, I might forget how this feels.  Please remind me that I said this, ok?
