Hi everyone! Thanks for the nice messages!

I lost 1.5 pounds last week, so I am now only one pound off of my low weight. I keep exercising regularly although my eating habits have taken a slight hit over the past few weeks. The company I work for has a great cafeteria! smile

Another milestone… last Tuesday (9/4/07) was my one year anniversary of my new lifestyle. On 9/4/06, I started my journey at my all time high weight of 275 pounds. On 9/4/07, I weighed in at 210 pounds.

The commute continues to average about 1 hour 45 minutes one way… and the house is on the market but the real estate market is very slow right now. The good news is that my workplace is very flexible… I got this laptop which I can use to work from home if need be. The bad news is that I don’t know how long I’ll be making this commute. On the buying end, there will be a lot of options available but we need to find a willing buyer on the selling end. Hopefully, our home sells sooner rather than later.

Miss you guys!! grin

We miss you, too. I’m happy you still like your job. I’ll pray for your house to sell quickly, that long commute is hard to maintain.

Congrats on losing a pound and a half! I knew you would get back to that low weight!

Holy cow!! I go away for a few weeks and I see updated avatars that are completely amazing!! Wow!! Emmi, Bree, Shawn, and a lot of others… you inspire me!! Wow!! (I just said that.)

Update…

I am still working out three days a week but have gained back a couple of pounds. (Plus, my clothes are starting to fit a little tighter… which seems to be the opposite of the phenomena that occurs when you work out and the clothes fit better but you don’t lose weight.) Obviously, the new job and the 1 hour, 45 minute commute have derailed me a bit. I wish there was good news about the sale of the house but there isn’t. Therefore, I am continuing to make this long commute and fitting in workouts as often as I can. Furthermore, I am finding that my new job is a lot more hectic and requires more hours of my time. I am not complaining… the job is still going really well, I love my new job, and my days are literally flying by!!

Nevertheless, I need to stop postponing my final weight loss goals until the move occurs… I think I will be making the long commute awhile longer (at least through the Winter), so I need to resume living my life!!

Thank you all for continuing to inspire me!! I promise that I won’t use long work hours and a long commute as an excuse for not attaining my goals… I still have 20-25 pounds to lose darn it!!!!! smile

I miss you all!!

I was JUST thinking about you yesterday and wondered where you went!!!  Thanks for the update, glad to hear that you still get workouts in despite the change in your schedule.  You can do anything you put your mind to, and well, 2007 is coming to a rapid close, I have a feeling that 2008 will be YOUR YEAR!!!!

Scott said that if you want to be successful you need to take action right away to reach your goals and not wait to do what you need to do when it’s more convenient. Welcome back, Tim! I too have been thinking about you. I’m glad your new job is going well for you even though things are more hectic. I can totally understand how hard it is to find the time to fit in workouts with a hectic schedule but I do want to offer a bit of advice. Visiting the forum everyday, even for a little bit, really helps you to stay focused on your fitness goals. Beside, I miss ya, Big Guy!

Tim!!! Yay!!! I missed you around here. Sorry the house isn’t selling, crappy selling market right now. But I’m thrilled that you’ve come back to us and are getting those last few pounds to go away. I’ve got 10-15 left to go, I think.  Don’t ya just love the collar bones on Emmi and Julie? Amazing.

You all look amazing!! Julie… I think that 2007 was “My Year” but I am looking forward to an even better 2008.

Life is good… other than being in transition mode, the job is going well and it’s really busy (perhaps a sign that I am needed), the oldest daughter is a straight ‘A’ student and will be doing two solo dance performances for competitions this year, and the three year old twins are just plain adorable lately. (Lindsey is finally potty trained… Ashley is still not quite there yet.)

Emmi… you are correct, I need to make it a priority to visit the forum daily, especially during those mornings where I can use an emotional boost. Luckily, my new employer blocks very little activity on the internet and makes it widely known that limited “surfing” is acceptable.

I’ll be interested to see what type of idears Scott concocts after the new year to inspire us to exercise… probably a ‘366’ day of exercise challenge given that next year will be a Leap Year.

Thanks for checking in y’all… you made my day!! smile

Good to see you back here Tim.  I’m glad you love your new job.  That’s great that you’re still working out three days a week even with your hectic schedule and long commute.  Hopefully you’ll get that house sold soon and get closer to the job.  I’m sure those last few pounds will melt off once you set your mind to it.

Take care.

Hmmmm… my “great 2007"… the “Greatest Year Ever"… etc. etc. has become a bit tainted over the past month or so.

I’m having my aspirations to “Kick 2008 Where It Counts” but I won’t wait any longer… I need to get back to the habits that allowed me to get to where I was before Thanksgiving and not use a long work commute as an excuse. This means:

1) Getting back to cardio 4 days a week instead of the current 2 days
2) Start weight training again
3) More carefully scrutinize what I eat… I’ve been overdoing it lately with eating
4) Curb alcohol consumption

I will be buying a pass to the workout facility at my workplace (only $30/month) until the home sells… and work out during my lunch break or after work so I can avoid rush hour.

Grrrrrrr… sorry that I’ve been beating myself up over my recent behavior… but if I didn’t do it, then one of you may drive to my house with a 2X4 and do the honors for me!!  LOL

We’ll keep each other straight.  I’ll be starting fresh in the new year too, us and a few million other people.  I’ll be starting a new challenge in 2008 too and I’m hoping to step it up a bit.  Have a great weekend and I’ll see you next week.

Thanks Bree and Carrie!

Bree… I still really like the new job but things are REALLY busy (in a good way… meaning that the day goes by fast but I don’t feel overwhelmed). It’ll be much nicer for my job, my sanity, and my weight loss/exercise program when I finally move closer and get 2-3 hours of my life back each day.

I’ll make sure to keep my doors locked tonight… I just may get a visitor who talks softly but carries a big stick!! LOL

Tim

Don’t beat yourself up.  We all get a bit off track sometimes, and life does get in the way.  Isn’t that the great thing about having a life??

I’m looking forward to seeing what “Kick 2008 Where It Counts” is going to look like.  Good luck on selling your house, and watch out for MTM Women with 2x4s wink
