Baby steps or even fetal steps will eventually get you to your goal, no matter how ambitious. Failure is just a guide posts on that journey. I fail here today, but tomorrow I go past than and fail much farther down the path. Failure isn’t an end, it’s just a marker on that path. I love your ten minute rule, you take what some might use as a negative and turn it into such a positive step in your path. You give yourself permission to choose.
With your attitude, you will achieve all of your goals. Just go for it.
Indeed. I’ll join my voice to the “FlyLady” team. For the most part, I’ve taken her philosophy of “you can do anything for 15 minutes” and applied it to other areas of my life. She’s a great motivator!
Oh, and I discovered she’s got a podcast—you can download it from iTunes. (I haven’t listened to it yet, but I thought some people around here might want to know.)
Do you ever look at an advanced yoga practitioner in an awe-inspiring pose and think to yourself, “I would never be able to do that!”? Join the club. Most yoga students can relate to being envious, overwhelmed, or discouraged when they see someone doing what seems to be an unobtainable pose. But instead of concentrating on your own shortcomings, next time try to focus on the potential in your yoga practice—if not physical, then certainly spiritual.
This was on the ‘Yoga Journal email I get everyday, and I thought I would share it....did’nt know which post to put it in, so here it is!
What a great topic. I’m really happy that you moved it to “sticky status”! I plan to go back and read it when I’m stuck in a rut. I have the book “Success Principles” but haven’t read it yet. (I’m working on my Master’s Degree and reading is pretty much focused on that material for now.) I didn’t think of getting the audio book. I’ll add it to my iPod when I can.
Thanks for all of you moderators for keeping us inspired!

Ive been a goal setter, goal getter and have also been a goal hater, goal sabotaged, goal re-arranged, and had the goal posts moved so many times I’m over it.
Keep it sublimely simple. Stay mindful. Make sure your attention stays on your intention.
Calm eating, maintain activity, meet your commitments, don’t overextend.
I’m stressed out right now and I’m here because I want to keep hold of a thread that I call me. I want to exercise 6 days a week for 100 days. KISS.
I also want to stop going to bed, weeping, every afternoon.
