Today was one of those days when I felt like I was in the wrong place. The teaching was very difficult today. And of course, it’s a full moon. Interesting.
We think Mouse has pink eye. One of her eyes is most definitely pink, and mattering. So I have a sub for tomorrow and will be taking her to the doctor. Ugh.
Mouse got some nasty eye drops, and was told she could go back to school today already! She was thrilled. The drops burn like mad, but she’s tough and knows it’s the only way she’ll get better.
I just found out that the assistant teacher in the other preschool room got a new job and put in her 2 week notice. After some thought, I decided to put in for the position. I subbed for her for a couple of weeks at the beginning of the year, and the teacher and I worked well together. And I love all those kids, too. It would mean a couple more hours a day (total of 8 instead of the 6 I have now), 5 days a week. I’d get a slight better pay, but I’d have to get a sitter for Mouse for 30 minutes after school. Skeeter could hang at her school and get some homework done, then walk to mine. Since I don’t have a degree, I don’t get the fast shot to the position, so please pray for me to be placed in the best position for me to help out. This may be a long process, but I’ll keep you posted!
Well, 2 snow days in a row, without snow, but there was ice. Unfortunately I can’t make snowmen with ice, so not as much fun.
As for the job, they’re looking for someone with their associates degree in early childhood development. I don’t have that, but I do have 2 years towards my bachelors in psychology. I’ll have to go through the interview process, with no favoritism like I’d have with the degree. But they do hire assistant teachers without the degree, so I’m definitely not out of the running.
Saw something horrible the other day. A lady was giving her dog a walk, but she was sitting in a golf cart! The lady was huge, but at least the dog was fit.

That is horrible. The dog should have been giving her a walk instead!
I am a bit disappointed today. I had planned on voting, even finally decided on who I was voting for. Made sure my voting card was in my wallet. The plan was to go and vote after work before the girls got home. Well, we had some pretty nasty weather (tornadoes) heading our way, so schools all let out at noon. It was cloudy, windy, but a wonderful 73 degrees. So the kids played outside and I decided to head over after Hubby came home from work. I knew it would be busier, but easier without 2 kids with me. Stupid tornado touched down 10 miles away and Hubby said I couldn’t go vote. I get it, my safety, but I always vote. And yes, I still would’ve voted, he took my keys.
But he did promise that if my vote would’ve been the one to make the difference, he’ll write an apology daily with $10 to my candidate for the next 2 years.
On a much better note, BB has been so much better this week. Makes my job so much better. And I found out today that his mom has been talking me up, and that he’s been better behaved at home, too. Things like this make my job worth every annoyance I’ve ever had.
Ah, I should have called and taken you to vote with me. I went around 4 though, but at least with 2 of us and the kids it would have been a little easier. I was surprised to see the results for Tenn. I’m not used to the political spectrum here yet, but of course that doesn’t influence how I vote, I just think its interesting.
