I like quotes that motivate me.  I found these and thought I’d add them to a thread as I can’t fit anymore in my siggy!

This I do know beyond any reasonable doubt. Regardless of what you are doing, if you pump long enough, hard enough and enthusiastically enough, sooner or later the effort will bring forth the reward.  Zig Ziglar

Where you start is not as important as where you finish. Zig Ziglar

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.  Oprah Winfrey

The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.

that is so true...sometimes we look at all the things we need to improve, we forget to see the things that are sooooo good in our lives....we need to take time EVERYDAY! to look for those and celebrate them!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Hi guys:

Here’s one to stretch us a bit and to clarify, it’s about optimism. wink

‘Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism.  It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.’ Vaclav Havel

Ross - “If you live the life you love, you will receive shelter and blessings.  Sometimes the great famine of blessings in and around us derives from the fact that we are not living the life we love; rather, we are living the life that is expected of us.  We have fallen out of rhythm with the secret signature and light of our own nature.” – John O’Donohue

I just read what you said Tom and it reminded me of this quote from Helen Keller.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so
long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been
opened for us.

Helen Keller

Ross - That’s really powerful.

regardless of how it turns out

Thanks for the quote.

Hi Renata:

Helen Keller’s quote also provides a good motivational ‘kick-in-the-pants’, for me too.  Sometimes we get hung up in historical perspective ... and I should use ‘I’ ... and there’s a need to get more present and future oriented.  With all that’s gone on in my life in this past year (as I’ve told Scott), the quote is a poignant one for me.

Thanks.

Hi all:

As we take on a new project, or a new stance ... as we standup and take a step ... in front of all whom we know it’s great to have a quote or an epiphany that supports us.  Here two quotes that accomplish that goal ... and they’ve stretched me a bit.

“What is man but his passion?”—Robert Penn Warren

“To go against the dominant thinking of your friends, of most of the people you see every day, is perhaps the most difficult act of heroism you can have.”—Theodore H. White

I hope you’re chillin’ on this Saturday.  cool smile

I also like the James Mitchener quote…

thanks for sharing those!

Here’s one: kind of sounds like Scott!

“Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.” –Conrad Hilton
