We all here, whether we want to admit it or not (whether we want to do it or not), know how beneficial just three days of Aerobic Activity can be. From lowering cholesterol, lowering blood pressure, to putting us in better moods and helping us to sleep better Aerobic Activity results speak for themselves. My question is if the goal is to lose weight, is 30min a day 4-5 days a week really enough to make that weight loss goal a reality, along with better healthier diets of course.

That’s how I started and it worked really well for me. Then I got hooked on the feeling and now I do an hour 6 days a week. But I lost the majority of the weight when I was doing 30 minutes 4 days. I’m down 40 pounds.

What are your goals for 2009?

If 3500 calories = one lb....then in a week, if you eat 500 calories less a day(7 days x’s 500 calories), then you’ll lose 1 lb a week (even if you don’t do any excercise). Now, with a good fitness program, it will help you feel better, and work off even more weight.

Your goal should be to be healthy of course, and stay within a healthy weight for you.....that varies by every person, body type etc.  How you get there depends on how much you can dicipline yourself to staying within a certain calorie count vs what you expend.

The best way to start is to KNOW how much your eating now.  So, without making any changes in your diet, track your daily intake for a week (I use http://www.fitday.com) After that week, once you know your average daily calorie intake, continue to track your daily calorie intake, keeping 500 calories off from what your had posted the week earlier.  It’s all a matter of calories taken in, vs. calories expended.  Excercise will keep your body more fit (and the extra benefit of expending calories too)!!!

Keep up the great workouts....a little every day.....

Take care!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!
