I can’t wait to hear how it feels to go for a long ride with it. Have you named it yet? “It” just doesn’t do it justice.

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember. What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

I’ve been trying to come up with a name, everything I can think of sounds so lame. But I’ll keep thinking.

How about Pegasus - you’re winged ride to victory. ( I have a fondness for horses and mythology). My kayak is named Dromy short for for Andromeda.
What ever you do, don’t call her Billie the Bike.

I’ve thought of Black Lightning: Grease Lightning (couldn’t help it): but that’s it, I’m usually better at this. What have you come up with?

I couldn’t offer any name suggestions because I haven’t met your bike.
Remember tho… it has to be something you won’t be embarrassed to say in front of your guy friends.

Laura: (http://www.fujibikes.com/2006/bikes.asp?id=122 ) You can go to this link to ‘meet’ my bike....
Pegasus....i wear those as my ‘second’ running shoes.....(from nike)....
Raven....I like ti, but its too bird like.....
And your right, it’s a name that I won’t be emarassed to call it around my guys friends!
Speed of some sort has to be incorporated in the name....maybe not the word but the feeling, the essence....
Keep on giving me ideas! And thanks for the ones so far.....!

Hmm.... well, I like your initial name of Fuji, but I understand you want it to have something that shows off how awesome it is. What about “Super Fuji”?
Either that or ask some 8 year old what Japanimation character you can name it after. I have two friends with Yamaha sailboats, one named Sacura (Cherry Blossom) and one named Haiku. I thought it was cool that they named their boats Japanese names. If you could find a cool Japanese name… Samurai? Find the name of some emperor that did cool things?

Sea Biscuit? Rosebud?
Fuji-san?
San is a title of respect added to a name. It can be used with both male and female names, and with either surnames or given names (according to the web site I saw this on).

Aloha, Tom!
I’m new here… hope you don’t mind me butting in, but your topic got me interested, so I’ve been reading about your goal! Good for you! I finished my first marathon in December, so I can relate a little to your training. Thought I would pass on to you something I’ve been listening to from iTunes that might help with your training - it’s from enduranceplanet.com. I’ve listened to several of their podcasts, most have been interviews with triathletes. I enjoy it for the motivation factor - you might get some really great advice and tips. Keep up the great work!
