I did a search and didn’t see this posted anywhere, so I thought I’d share.  I’ve seen this linked on a couple of bicycle communities, but haven’t gotten around to checking it out until today.

It’s kind of a neat tool that does a couple of things.  I used it tonight to figure out how far I’d walked.  It also seems to have a calories-burned calculator.  You can do some other things with it; it’s kind of fun to explore.  I recommend reading the Usage Instructions because it wasn’t immediately obvious to me how to use it.  (You can find the usage instructions by looking on the left and down just a little way.  It’s one of the links, in with “Messageboard” “FAQ” and all those.

I couldn’t agree with you more Summer! I love the Google Map Pedometer - and it works for cities all over the world. This is very useful for those who exercise and travel, especially overseas. It has to make you wonder though… Who is taking those pictures and where the heck was I when the camera snapped. Good thing I wasn’t walking around in my skivees in the backyard! grin

Hi Summer,

Another nifty took is Map My Run, which seems to work similarly to google map pedometer.  Just thought I’d give you a heads-up.

Cheers,
Julie
