Since I lost my last Yoga DVD, I need to buy a new one.  What dvds (if any) do ya’ll use for yoga if you do it at home?  I used to have Yoga Journal’s Beginner Yoga (released by Gaiam), but I’m looking step up a bit, because that one is simple now.  Also, I’m wanting to branch out from Iyanger (sp?) Yoga, which is what that dvd teaches.

Also, what style of Yoga do you like the best?  I’m leaning towards Power Yoga right now, but not sure.  I wanted to get the Bryan Kest Power Yoga set (it’s 3 dvds), but no place has it in stock (I guess they stopped making it).

Nothing beats the real thing - and this is coming from a DVD junkie. Yoga is one of those things best served in groups by a well trained teacher. There’s no substitute and it’s worth every effort to find a good studio. It’s a great investment in your body, mind and soul. OM --- Namste.

I would check out videofitness.com… It is a consumer run web site with reviews for all sorts of exercise dvds, including yoga. I have a huge exercise dvd collection thanks to their forum and review section.

I have many yoga dvds and would be happy to make recommendations but your best bet is to check out videofitness, collagevideo.com and fitnessorganica.com… the last two have sample clips of the various dvds.

Hope this helps! grin

Kingsley, thanks for the link, I’ll definitely check that out.  I have to admit, i haven’t been doing yoga lately, but that’s because my circus class is really kicking my butt lately so I’m just so tired all the rest of the week.

doing this:

For two hours takes ALOT of energy.

Hey Russell, Is that you in the photos?  I can see why that kicks your butt.  You’ve got to have alot of upper body strength and flexibility to do that.  That’s very cool!
