From your post I can not tell where you were to get to where you are now. Sounds like to me you are happy reaching your goal and that it was an accomplishment for you. Congratulations!

Now to keep all that hard effort in check....

Do you have any old photos of you that remind you of where you were?
Do you have any writings indicating how you felt (perhaps Statement of Goals or a diary) ?
Do you have any old clothes that were too tight then and now far too big?

Obviously, these items alone should help motivate you in keeping self-motivation.

Maybe you need to change things up a bit? New exercises? New equipment? Joining a group fitness center? Did you reward yourself? How about becoming a mentor to someone else that may need a little motivation from you?

Welcome abroad and keep us updated smile

hello, thanks for your reply.

my goal was to go from 130 to 120 lbs. not much at all, but still.. also i’d like to be more in shape.

i have smaller clothing.. perhaps i can use those as motivation? smile
as for pictures, i haven’t been more than 130 so i can’t really use pics as motivation. it’s just the feel of clothes and the number on the scale that is more motivating to me.

and yes, i think i will try weight workouts instead of just walking/jogging/running.

thanks much!

Hi, and welcome!  I know for me, it’s not just the numbers
on the scale, but how I feel, how healthy I am.  I can’t seem to
care long enough to keep everything going if
it’s just about how I look.
I read magazines on what vitamins to take, and how working
out increases bone density, and other health benefits.  If we
don’t take care of us, who will?  smile
hope to hear more about your journey.

I agree with randi. For me, exercise is how I feel, much more than what it does. I just feel good and alive to wake up with the moon still out and walk down to the gym in my town. I know that afterwards I feel amazing, and its something I’m becomming addicted to.  Though I’m really not giving much advise or suggestions here, I would maybe ask that you think about how exercising makes you feel. I know that if you think that you only feel good about it cause it gets you to your goal, that won’t be enough to sustain it. I find for myself, that going after short goals helps keep me going. Make sure you set your next goal. To me its simple things like trying to build a six-pack or lighting more weight, or running fast, or trying to push myself to burn more calories. Thats what I know works for me, so I hope you can get something out of it.
