Hello to the MTM family,

Scott was gracious enough to read my E-mail in episode 27. My name is Bill. I live in Lawrence Kansas. I’m 58 years old. I’ve allowed my weight to get up to 385 pounds. I am big at 6’3” and yeah, I really am “big boned”, but not big boned enough to carry these extra pounds. Ideal weight for me would be around 240- 260??.

It was the morning of the Friday before Christmas when the pains in my body became greater than the mental pain of going to the gym. It was the pain vs. pleasure thing only this time it was pain vs pain. It’s been a month now since I walked back through the door of the gym using a membership I’d had since July for the first time!

I discovered Motivation To Move and Scott’s podcast about a week after going back to the gym. It could not have come at a better time. In the month that I’ve been back working out my knee has stopped hurting and I am able to get up and down the stairs more easily. I’ve not weighed myself yet but I can see and feel the difference in my body.

I know the journey back to health will take some time. What I’ve known is that for me the challenge is all in the head. It isn’t about the muscle pain or the sweat. It’s about being able to focus on the positives and not allowing those negative feelings and thought to overwhelm. For me it is a constant waking battle.

I look forward to being able to share and find some support amongst all of you MTM
fans out there. It’s good to be aboard. A big thank you to Scott for his efforts and constant words of encouragement.
