I very recently purchased an IPOD and started to browse the Itunes website for motivational Podcasts to motivate me to lose weight and I stumbled onto the MTM podcasts and the MTM website. Wow, what a wonderful community for motivation and support to reach our health goals!
I am a 55 year old male, living in Long Island, NY and I commute to New York City everyday to my desk job. I am 6’ 0†and weigh in at about 257 (down from 260 earlier this week). Since listening to Scott’s terrific motivational words and reading the postings in the community, I think I am well on my way to meeting my goal of dropping at least 30 pounds by my daughter’s wedding in October. I am also very active in a fraternal organization that raises money for charity and until now, I have been finding very little time to exercise. The organization slows down for the summer, so I plan on using some of this time to get healthy.
Over the last several weeks, I have increased my walking, cut out the fattening sandwiches and replaced them with salads and I have drastically reduced my consumption of the “junk†snacks and replaced them with fruit. This weekend, I am going to purchase a hybrid bike and start riding throughout Long Island. By the way, does anyone have an opinion how a Specialized Bike compares with a Trek?
It is very unusual for me to post to websites, but with the love and support that I find on the MTM website, I wanted to become pert of it and publicly post my goal of at least 30 pounds by October. With your support and my posting my goal, it will make reaching my goal a lot easier, and I will need your support to keep me going. The postings will also keep me on track and better motivate me not to quit like I have hundreds of times before.
Any support you can provide will be deeply appreciated.
More to come!
