Wow!!! What a difference a year makes.  Last year at this time I was morning the sudden death of my Uncle (he was 58).  But like I have heard so much from here and other place, I took a negative and made it a positive.  Last year I took the family down to the beach (Jersey Shore).  Most of the time down there was spent sitting on a beach chair, under an umbrella, with a shirt on.  This same scenario has played out for the last few years, as I got bigger and bigger.  (I’m 5’10 and weighed 272 pounds when I started this journey.)

Well I am proud to say, this weekend was not the same as the past.  I was able to run around on the beach, jump waves (man that water was cold) and play in the sand with my kids.  It really felt great to be able to be as active as I was.  It made me feel like all of the hard work I have been putting in is starting to pay off.  Unfortunately because I was running around with my shirt off I got a case of sun burn, but it was well worth it.

Now I have not lost all of the weight I want to lose, but the important thing is I keep finding ways to stay motivated.  (I get a lot of help from MTM Land) But it was 1 year ago this past weekend that started the wheels turning in my head that I needed to do something about my health.  I am proof that it can be done; you just have to have a strong why.  This weekend last year cemented my why!!!

Thanks for letting me share my story.  To all those father’s out there, I hope you had as great of a weekend as I did!!!

All the best,
Stu

You are an inspiration, Stu!! Congratulations on your sun burn.  wink It’s a good sign when you have the body confidence to show some skin.

It’s funny.  Even though it hurts and make it difficult to work.  It’s what I would call a good pain.

Thanks Guys,
Stu
