Hi all.  I have been a member since February and thought I was time to say hi.  Around March of last year I decided it was time to start losing some weight.  So I started walking.  We have a walking track at work around a lake.  I did that until it got too cold here in north central Texas.  I then bought an exercise bike and rode that for about 20 to 30 minutes a day.  In January I joined a local gym.  I currently go there 4 to 6 days a week.  What I have noticed on me is that I haven’t lost a lot of weight, but my clothes are not fitting like they used to.  Some of my shirts that were a little tight are now loose fitting and I had to go by new pants, a bigger size, but the problem is that they were too tight around my thighs.  And the biggest thing that I have noticed is that I had to go by a new belt.  The one that I had was too big.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I get up at 4 am and go to the gym and workout for about an hour and a half.  I try to do 30 minutes of cardio and then I lift weights for an hour. I usually go on Saturday and Sunday for a 2 hour + workout.

My goal is to be in better shape for my 20 year high school reunion that I was the day I walked across the stage.  I have about 5 years to get to my goal.  I will try to keep posting my progress as time permits.  You know the life of us System Administrators(geeks).

Hi Zhadum,

Wow… that’s what I call motivation!  I’m so glad that all your hard work is paying off!  Don’t pay too much attention to the scale.  Your clothes are fitting better, you’re feeling better, and you’ve got more energy.  THAT’S the important thing!  Muscle is much denser than fat, so you can be leaner, fitter, and still gain weight.  Don’t let the numbers bother you.  If you’re feeling good, you’re doing the right thing!

Welcome to MTM-Land!  I hope to see you around the community!
