Day 17th I enjoyed listening to Scotts support boosts on the cd i ordered from last year while out and about this morning. I did my exercises before going t o weigh in at my TOPS club this morning, I am down to 143.25 so i am very happy to have lot .75. I think i will get to my goal of 135 bend of 100 days.i had made valentines for all the club members and gave them each a peanut butter resse shaped heart after they weighed in, oh that is so bad but only one person said no thanks and she had lost 5 pounds this week. She said she kept her calories down to 1000 calories a day except for one day she did 1500, she works out like mad every day, i don’t want to try and compete with her. I bought the Diet Solution program and have it all downloaded and perusing through it all, I still have to figure out where it tells how to eat vegetarian meals. She makes allot of sense i think, learned a few scary things about soy. I WAS GUNG HO about using it for supplement to not eating meat, now I have to look for another option. Well beans are good. HMMM.

Hope you all have a peachy day!

Way to go on the weight loss!  It shows progress.

I was eating a lot of soy and then stopped after going through The Diet Solution info.  It’s not the first I’ve read about staying away from soy, but I was beginning to read a lot of similar things in numerous places and decided better safe than sorry.  Of course, no matter what it is, you will get just as many pro stories as you will con stories.

I am basically following The Diet Solution principles, and I eat something every few hours.  I really do feel much better when I eat this way.  I just have to get better about figuring out my protein/carb ratio.

1000 calories a day?  I don’t think that drastic of a calorie reduction is recommended, especially if one is working out a bunch.  I know many think that is how it should be done, though, and I did too for many years.  Me?  I would STARVE.  I wonder if she noticed a difference in the way she felt on the day she ate 1500 calories.

I prefer to compete with myself rather than against somebody else when it comes to this stuff—that way I have a much better chance of keeping it healthy—especially the older I get!

Have a great remainder of the day, and keep up the good work!

your right, I think that can come back to haunt her but you got to live and learn yourself. I am trying to find out what the diet solution says about vegetarian eating. I know she said its easy to adapt to that type of eating.
Darn phone call, have a good one, thanks

Hey there!

I noticed your post and thought I would point you in the direction of where she talks about vegetarian eating.  This is on page 89 of the DS Manual…

52. I am a vegetarian. Is this program for me?
The Diet Solution: Start Eating and Start Living
The Diet Solution Program has been an eye opening experience for many
vegetarians, often encouraging them to include different sources of protein
that they may have not been eating before.
Do you eat cottage cheese, raw nuts, nut butter and organic eggs?  Those
may be good protein choices along with your fish.
However, The Diet Solution Program does advocate including healthy
protein choices into each meal.  This includes natural meats, poultry, wild
fish, organic eggs, raw nuts and some dairy.  The meal plans and recipes
are not vegetarian.
Meat substitutes and good and bad animal foods
You’ll find all the answers to your questions about meat substitutes and the
good and bad about eating animal products in Part 2 of The Diet Solution
Program Manual.  There, I am able to thoroughly cover which foods are a
healthy part of a weight loss program and which foods to stay away from
for long term weight loss and maintenance.

Keep moving,

Joi

19th day...no exercises today. Going to watch carefully my food intake doing a jornal of the foods.

Making plans on my attack on exercises tomorrow, lol. I actually wouldn’t mind doing some every day.

Hope you all have a peachy day everyone.  smile

I find that journaling my food intake really does help me pay attention to exactly how much I’m eating. It’s especially helpful if I write the food down before I put it into my mouth. That gives me a few more minutes to think about what I’m going to eat.

Oh I am excited to do my journaling that way starting this morning. I usually work with a software that automatically adds things up as i write record them and like yesterday i was wishing i had not ate that few extra bites, so doing it your way might bring good results.

THANK YOU so much!

You’re welcome. Today when I got home from work I was starved (didn’t take enough food with me). I ate a reasonable amount for a snack to catch me up but I knew I could easily eat my way through the kitchen. So I took a nap partly as a way to keep out of the kitchen. Not everyone can do that--but it works for me.

Unfortunatly I took a nap and slept like a dream but also just had two chocolate covered PB hearts about 75 calories. I wasn’’t even hungry just got done with dinner but i always want something sweet. Oh well I worked my butt off today on my evercises and going to do the same until next weigh in day on Tuesday. I need to journal in my 2 hearts, wasn’t planned.

Sweet dreams!

Journaling is great, but you have to stay honest with yourself or you are wasting your time.  So good for you for writing it down… and enjoy your occassional indulgance.  Its the trend and persistence in doing the right things that will get you to your goals.

You are really doing great.  PYOTB!  I’m going to have to make up two days of not moving—four inches of snow today in ATLANTA and being at my parents’ house overnight really messed me up.  Ugh.  I didn’t have a plan.  I’ll have to “fix” that for next time.

Snow, i think everyone is getting a taste of it this year. We haven’t Really had that much this year got a few little storms but to cold to melt that much. We have some serious icicles this year. I didn’t get much done this afternoon but work on making some greeting cards. I use to do that all the time but put all my stuff last summer cause it was so busy and never got it out again. I even cheated and bought Christmas cards to send out this year, i usually make them. Oh well one thing great about making them it keeps my hands busy, lol.
Oh you will get back on the wagon things like that are normal for everyone. Are you going to listen to the seminar on line?
Talk to you later and thank you for saying Pat myself on the back, heck give yourself one too! Hugs

I think 49 states got measurable snow yesterday according to the weather channel.  For us in Georgia, it is an extreme rarity—especially as much as we actually got.  There’s around 5 inches in our yard!  Absolutely gorgeous, but I wouldn’t want to deal with it on a regular basis.  I am originally from Connecticut, so I remember making snow bunnies for Easter many times!  But, I’ve been away from that kind of snow for a long, long time, and other than an occasional “snow event,” don’t miss it.

I downloaded the seminar to my iTunes and will put it on my iPod to listen to this weekend.  I hate missing them, but I was in the bed with a headache.  Thankfully, I don’t get migraines like I used to, but I still get an occasional bad headache.  The change in weather got me this time.

We forget to pat ourselves on the back (or the butt) and to celebrate the many changes we are making in our bodies.  It’s important, and we deserve it!

A friend of mine lives in Floridia and when the weather is a changing she gets migrains too. Many years ago i used to get them but iheard a doctor on the radio and he said to take the herbal supplement FEVERFEW. I am not sure of the dosage but seems like it took two capsules twice a day and i did that for a few years even after they had quite. That supplement totally iradicating my migrains, yea!
That is alot of snow, wow. We have at least that much or more on the ground but the bulk of it came donw before CHristmas but not warm enought to melt it all. We are surrounded by mountains and we get foggy weather and it hangs in and keeps humidity up and stays pretty chilly. Our son lives 20 miles from here near the base of the mountains and he can see down here or not see the fog hanging over us but yet he is up there wearing tshirt outside, lol. Crazy..

Hope you have a wonderful day i will post later is i exercise..

Keep laughing!

OOPSEE , again I didn’t get my post out yesterday, had a fun day but did get my exercises in. Today I haven’t thus far, I am contemplating a walk outside if the sun comes out. I woke up with a beastly sinus headache and it pretty much ruled my morning , finally got rid of almost 99.99% but there is a little beasty part of it that every once in awhile it teases me with a hint of another attack. lol so....whatever I am up and can get at the sinutab quite easily and blast it away.
Yesterday my daughter in law was telling me about a program she and daughter are doing to lose weight. I brought the material home and read it and listened to an audio. Oh it sounds quite exciting lose about one pound of body fat a day, not muscle, quite a regimented 500 calorie diet daily. You take some kind of hormone drops under the tongue too, very expensive. Luckily I don’t like to eat meat and that was one thing you had to eat 3 times a day and it wasn’t all meats either. I hope they do’t get the bad side effects, I reviewed the program on line this morning and as we always hear it might get ya down there but what ya going to do after its over??? Yes they are losing about a pounds a day, from doing it. There was a time I went with whatever sounded like the magic bullet but now I don’t want to pay out money for failure. I know I can control it myself and save the extra money to buy new clothes for the summer.

Hope everyone has a super duper day!

Oh wow I didn’t get exercise in yesterday I was so down on myself i figured I would show a gain when i went to weigh in so i accepted defeat for the past week To my surprise I did not gain or lose, boy i skinned by that bullet. This morning I had to go to a doctor appointment way early and had to drive a ways so i didn’t have time before and when i got home had time to eat lunch ( not a helathy one) and then leave and go to the next town, over and do grocery shopping. Now tomorrow morning i go to town way early for hair appointment and home early so maybe after i get home and the septic cleaners come at noon i can go for a long walk. It is suppose to snow for three days here starting Friday and i have no wheres to go so i will be able to exercise Friday thru Tuesday, yea!.
Good news at the doctors office their scaled had me at 140, that is so awesome but I have to go with the TOPS sales for the record and yesterday it showed 143.25 .. I am still a happy girl.

Hope everyone else has been doing better than me in the exercise department.

I wonder if i am kicked out of the 100 day challenge? i didn’t get to do regular exercises today again but have them slated in starting tomorrow morning through Tuesday. But I broke a good sweat this afternoon helping my husband outside. He is handicapped and needed to do some fence work and i had to dig a hole and pound a testing rod into ground looking for a septic tank cover with a small sledge hammer, and i didn’t even miss the head of the rod. I had my insulated long coat on, i was just going out to say jello to him , he was sitting out there by the problem area and the next thing i knew i was working my butt off, so ya i would say maybe i did get my work out in, took me over an hour. Never did strike gold though, lol. Probably be disabled tomorrow but i am still going to crawl on that treadmill.

Hope everyone is doing great! smile
