So I am stiill unclear if this is where you put your journal or not, please some on elet me know… Thanks
I have been doing treadmill since 1st of Jaunuary but today i put th eincline to 7 and walked a little iota above a mile to burn 200 caloories. That takes some of the cerea, toast ,banana and yogurt off. I should have read my pulse rate before i started but i did get it up to 94 and that is pretty good considering i had taken my Propranolol with breakfast and it slows it weigh down. I have premature ventrical coontractions for maye 35 years. I always feel really good as far as heart goes i have never had to gointo doctor except for yearly refill of the medicene so i must have it well under control.
Do any of you have suggestions of a product or food one can take to rid the body of a abundance of water? I occasionly feel puffy as i had a difficult time takin goff my ring this morning. I guess i can go to doctor and get her advice.
Anyhow i weighed intoday at 144.2, i am a little disapointed because I have ben trying to be very good eating but probably the portions to big. I made a subway veggie sandwich for lunch yesterday and for dinner black bean burritos but i at 2 of them. Well i will work more with the food portions.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. i think i will go chovel somemore snow for exercise this afternoon.
Go to the forum home page. Then go down to 100 day challenge and put it there. Good start! When you are retaining water the best thing to do is drink more water! It flushes it out.
I all ready signed up for the Preminum but I only did it for a month because i wanted to see if i would actually use this site often. I bet i will have to sign up for a year to do the 100 day .
Welcome, Shapeshifter. I like your “name.” I agree that you should start a new thread on the 100 day challenge. That’s where you’ll find the most support from other MTMers for what you want to do. It will help you (along with listening to Scott) to be consistent so you will attain your goals.
As far as water retention goes, looking for a pill wouldn’t be my first choice. First I’d start reading the sodium content on anything I’m eating and make choices to go for as little sodium as possible. And be careful to pay attention to what the label says is the portion size. The second thing I would do even though it might seem counter intuitive is that I’d drink LOTS of good plain water. The only way you’re going to get the salt out of your body that you’ve already taken in is to excrete it.
Hi i all I actually started yesterday but posted on the wrong page. Anyhow right now I do treadmill and soon will be adding some exercises with stretch straps can’t think of the proper names. I did a little over a mile yesterday and today I was listening to podcast and he said walkd 45 minutes to burn the fat , so I did another quarter mile but didn’t take 45 minutes, I figure I will work up to it this week.
I wonder if i should do both types of exercise on same day or one day treadmill other day straps, anyone got any advice on that?
Thanks all, hope you all have a succesful week.
Welcome again, shapeshifter. I agree that you’re best off alternating at least at first. You want your body to be telling you that you’re doing something different but you don’t want to be so sore that you can’t function. A happy medium is great.
Thanks!
I didn’t post in today because today was a off day for exercise. Tomorrow morning is weigh in day at my TOPS club an I haven’t decided if I should treadmill before if it would even doing anything that soon. Anyone know how long it would take to notice a few ounces or so on the scale ? I weigh in at 10:00 a.m. which i am grateful for because later in the day it seems there is signidfcant weight gain from the liquids and food of the day and I wouldn’t want to Fast all day, yikes.
How do you get that area in your posts that says signature? Thanks, I know i will get with the program and figure it out one day soon maybe New Years Eve, lol
I don’t think you’ll see a difference on the scale whether you exercise before your weigh in or not. I’d just exercise whenever it works best for you in your day. I think everyone’s weight goes up naturally during the day. That’s why I weigh myself each morning so I’m comparing apples to apples. You can’t control when the TOPS weigh in is.
I found when it comes to the scale - you have to look for the long term downward trend. I find being female that there are certain monthy fluctuations that would be discouraging if I only compared day to day. Also, if you build some muscle doing your stretch band exercises your weight may actually go up a bit initally - but that is a really good thing!! It will help your body burn fat faster. The scale is only one measure to track your progress. How your clothes fit is a better indicator of progress.
Good thinking and advice from you Catherine, thank you.
Well today was weigh in day at TOPS club. I decided to go ahead an do treadmill anyway beforehand. I did a good workout for me. i inclined at 7.5 and 3.00 speed. I lost a grand total 2 pounds and for the month only 2.5 but one week I stayed the same week as before.
I don’t diet per say but I try to only eat healthy foods but that being said I went to fast food today and picked up a quick lunch to take home for hubby and me. First time i have had french fries in long time. Uusually I would give myself a free eating day on Club day but I have decided only the lunch pig out, i am going to eat sensably for snack an dinner. That is something i never thought i would do but i really really want to get to my goal of 135 pounds in 100 days. Now i have 8.5 pounds to go. I will do it for sure this year, i know it, i want it. If i watch what i eat now i can more easily maintain the 135 long term.
I love this website, thanks Scott!
You are doing GREAT. You must PYOTB (pat yourself on the butt—or back if you prefer)! Either way—eating the french fries but eating good for snack and dinner is very good. As Scott says, we need to be more gooder than badder—and it sounds like you have been that today! Way to go.
I luv that “gooder than badder”, AWESOME! How is your week going? I can’t wait till Springtime so i can get out and walk. Snow is no fun well actually snow is okay but freezing temperatures are not good.
Hope we all have a pleasant, successful week.
Oh what butt, lol, just kidding, its there , it follows m everywhere. I remember one time when i got at my highest weight, one day i was SHOCKED that i felt something behind me and it hit me OMG it’s my growing butt, lol made me laugh but also made me ask myself if i wanted to continue that train, lol. I normally don’t have much for a butt its just a flat attachement to my other side, lol.
ya those darn things can start crawling around the hips to, then you know trouble is here for long time unles i do long walk and don’t quit till i am 102! so didn’t want to do that , that’s why i started now, lol.
It’s day 5 and i exercised again, don’t know when i will take a day off i really enjoy it so much and with Scott’s podcast to go along with it, wow it’s to amazing. I bumped up to incline 8 towards the last bit and speed 3 .1, did 1 1/2 mile . I wanted to do easy shaper but borrowed my speakers out and the guy accidently broke them so have to get some new ones today.
