Joan I have the Nike Plus. It is a sensor in your shoe and another one on your Ipod. It tracks your miles and pace and then takes the info you have given it for your height and weight, age..... I am burning less calories because I am doing less miles. I can’t do 6 or 7 miles of run/walking right now. So I am wondering which is better? Just walk for 6 or 7 miles, or run/walk for 3.5 or 4 miles?
No strength training today. My quads, ankles, calfs and shins are pretty sore right now. I always stretch after but I did extra today.
Great to see you’re sticking to it Candy. We are pretty close in weight. Congrats for not letting the though stuff get you down. Keep up the good work!
Candy, I’ve been thinking about your post since I first read it and I’ve decided that I would alternate between the walking and the running at whatever intervals work for you. The long walks help you burn calories but they don’t do much for cardio vascular fitness. The running raises your heart rate and helps to make your cardiovascular system more fit. So I’d do both for the two different outcomes. And then, of course, there’s the resistance training to get in--which I know you can do.
Day 91 2.59 miles 369 calories
Day 92 Rest
Day 93 2.66 miles 379 calories
Day 94 Rest
Day 95 2.85 miles 406 calories
Wow! I haven’t posted in a little while. I know on 2 of the days I did do some upper body strength training. I have been emotionally exhausted this week. Since I started my own business 6 weeks ago I feel like everyday is filled with anxiety and lack of confidence.
Thanks Catherine and Joan! I am getting the strength training in there..... baby steps..... Joan, you just gave me a “light bulb” moment! That seems like such a simple solution! Why didn’t I think of that! Goes to show me how I am way too much of an all or nothing thinker!
The scale is slowly moving..... I am now calling it the Snail Scale.... I am going back and forth between 190 and 191 now. So, I’ll split the difference. Can’t wait for the teleseminar tonight!!!
Day 96 4.39 miles 629 calories
3 sets of abs
3 sets of squats
Day 97 Lazy......
Day 98...... going out now! Be back to post!
The scale is not my friend this month! I have been lazy this week though. I just saw a picture of me from September and my jaw dropped to the ground! I was huge!!!!! I will get it uploaded and post a before and now pic (not after yet, mid way point).
Day 99 5.4 miles 769 calories
3 sets of each:
-abs
-biceps
-triceps
-side raises
-overhead presses
Can’t believe tomorrow is day 100! That went fast! Maybe tomorrow the scale will be my friend. I am using positive thoughts that the scale will say 189 in the morning...... That would be a great way to end the 100 days!
I did it! 100 days! I didn’t do any strength training today. It’s Sunday and I now have decided they will be a long walk day. And the scale this morning said........ 188.8!!!!!! I started this challenge at 206 and 100 days later I am 17 pounds down! Yeahhh!!!
Ok, here is today.......
Woke up and the scale said 191.2.... What??????? I really don’t like my body right now. I pretty much eat the same thing or combo of things every day. So then I went for my walk.
Day 101 3.64 miles 519 calories
No strength training, just irritated. I am doing another 100 day challenge. Even though I am super annoyed with the scale today, I know it will go down. When I really don’t want to go workout and just go to a drive thru and get a huge cheeseburger and french fries I think of the one saying that Scott has said that has really stuck in my mind. “What else do you have to do anyways...” (or something close to that). So, off on my next hundred days being proud of the (15 or 17) pounds I have lost. It is an emotional journey. But if I just keep on it there will be a really skinny tight butt at the end! Because, what else am I going to do anyways?
Candy, have you taken the time to PYOYB??? You deserve it for the progress you’ve already made and for signing up for another 100 days. At this rate, you won’t know what to do with yourself if you don’t exercise!
Ok, decided I am starting my next 100 days yesterday. I have done some small 2 miles walks a few days last week but for the most part just mentally and physically unmotivated..... So....
Day 1 4.69 miles 668 calories
Day 2 4.31 miles 615 calories
-plus abs and upper body strength training.
Don’t know what my problem was last week, but I am back on track! Can’t wait for the teleseminar tonight!
Day 3 4.06 miles 573 calories
Day 4 3.91 miles 558 calories
Day 5 rest day
Day 6 rest day
day 7 woke up with a cold...... :(
Day 8 The fever has got me..... :(
On either day 3 or 4 I did a whole upper body strength training and abs (Hi Joan!) Then I took the weekend off to relax, and then a cold knocked me down for 2 days. Feeling better this morning. Going for a light walk now. My first 100 days this would have got me so discouraged. But not this time. I know now it is a life long journey and a few days isn’t going to sidetrack me. Just jumping back on in!
Day 9 5.3 miles 755 calories
Day 10 rest
Day 11 2.5 miles 357 calories
Day 12 rest
Day 13 rest
No strength training last week… :( Struggled with a cold all week. Bummed I only got 2 workouts in, but one day would feel up to it then the next not at all.... I am feeling good today, so about to get out there.
Not sure what today (day 15) is going to be. Woke up late and have a looooonnnnggg day at work. I will try to at least get some strength training in when I get home even though it will be after 8.
Scale is definitely going down! This morning was 185, but that seems a little low. It will go up a bit tomorrow. But..... looks like I have said so long to the 190’s!
Yea! I don’t know what it is but every time that second number changes, it somehow means more than just a normal pound lost.
Hope you are over the cold entirely. I’m glad that you’ve exercised enough that you know you’ll go back to it even if you have to stop because of being sick. For me, posting here helps keep me going too.
