4 oz. raw extra lean ground beef
1 wedge The Laughing Cow Light Original Swiss Cheese, room temp.
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
dash salt, or more to taste
dash pepper, or more to taste

1) In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except the cheese.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  Knead the mixture by hand until integrated.  Form into a ball and , using your thumb, make a large, hollow indentation in the ball (past the center but not all the way through).  Fill the hole with cheese and squeeze the meat to seal, making sure no cheese is exposed.  Flatten slightly into a thick patty.

2) Bring a pan misted with nonstick spray to medium-high heat on the stove.  (You can also use a grill pan or cook on the grill) Place patty in the pan, cover, and cook for 4-7 minutes per side, depending on how well done you like your burger.

This is for one serving and is 179 calories.  You can eat alone or I like to put on a 100 calorie toasted wheat english muffin.

Hi Joi,

I made these tonight with ground turkey instead of beef.  They turned out great. I think next time I might add a little barbecue sauce as either a condiment or in the mix just to add a little sweetness.

Thanks so much!

Hi Joi,

We here in Michigan decided to add a bit of local flavor grin so I used 2 tablespoons of chopped dried cherries with the recipes and so it was a nice salty sweet combination.  Hubby and family liked it on a 12 grain bun. Yummy - thanks so much for being a fabulous meal maker - helps me so much to support healthy whole food cooking.
So keep ‘em comin’.....love you!

Thanks for the great idea!  We tried the burgers with ground venison (IL hunting family) and Sprouted Wheat Buns.  We will definitely use these for the Father’s Day cookout.
