Thanks, Joan - your encouragement is always appreciated!

Day 102
Approximately 20-25 minutes of weight training, with a little hamstring and heel cord stretching thrown in, done during my lunch break.

Tomorrow, planning to do SOMETHING during lunch break, probably cardio of some sort.  Will most likely be working 12+ hours, so the lunch break is the only time available for the day.  This crazy schedule should be clearing up in about 2-3 more weeks.  Need to keep it going until then.  It can be done (I think)!

Felt so much better after some stretching - need to keep doing that!

I know what you mean about the stretching. I am not doing enough of it--and I think I need more lessons in how to stretch.

PYOTB for exercising despite the long hours.

Day 103
20 minutes on elliptical during lunch break, followed by hamstring stretching.  It felt great, and provided a nice energy boost for the afternoon.

Chest/arms are mildly sore from yesterday’s weight training.  Nothing major, just the satisfying type of sore.

Tomorrow will be tough - have a meeting during lunch, so the “easy” time to exercise is gone.  Planning to squeeze in a little something, preferably some weight training, but it may be a bit broken up throughout the day.

Day 105

Gorgeous day today!  Walked 3 miles at the local school track, in the sunshine!  Returned home and opened all the windows, letting the fresh air fill the house.  Spring is here!

Day 106

Clogging practice - estimate 2 hours of actual dancing time.  Still learning new stuff, so my brain got a workout as well.  Stretched out this evening - I think the legs are still going to be pretty stiff tomorrow, but that’s okay.

Has anybody tried the new “Kentucky Grilled Chicken”?  I’ve seen multiple commercials for it now, but haven’t checked it out yet.  Just curious…

Nope. I haven’t been in a KFC in probably 25 years. Isn’t it great when we can get outside? Today I had to just grit my teeth and remember that some tomorrow will have good weather again. We could use some rain but mostly it was just in the 40s and sprinkled a bit and made everything damp. Ugh.

Day 107

Strength training (mostly upper body) during lunch break, followed by stretching for hamstrings, quads, heel cords.  Probably about 25 minutes total.

Plan for tomorrow:  Clogging class in the evening will be the main exercise for the day.

Day 108
Clogging class!  About 75-90 minutes of dancing, but not very intense - focus more on fun tonight.  Dancing included doing the “hokey pokey” with the little kids.

Day 111
Rest day - started work early, had a meeting during lunch and then worked late, so the exercise thing just didn’t happen today.  That’s fine, as long as it doesn’t happen for too many days!

Day 112
Spent about an hour weeding for the first time this year, with 2 breaks to deal with splinters before I was smart enough to break out some gloves!

Later, spent about 45 minutes hiking a trail at a local nature preserve.  I love this weather!

Spending time this evening going through travel guides for Niagara Falls.  Planning a trip there with my sweetheart this summer, and I have never been there.  Does anyone have suggestions for absolute must-do attractions? (In addition to the Maid of the Mist - of course we’re doing that!) We may be spending a day in Toronto as well..

Day 113
Clogging competition practice today kicked my butt!  I’ll estimate 2 - 2.5 hours of actual dance time, and it was high intensity.  My legs are sore already!

Should be able to get some exercise during lunch break tomorrow.

I laughed when I saw your comment about splinters. I just got one out of the palm of my hand that’s been there almost a week.

Do you like theater? I don’t know which direction you’re coming from but if you’re going to Niagara Falls, I’d suggest a trip to Niagara on the Lake to the Shaw Festival. The town is charming and there’s quite a variety of plays. Each summer they produce a variety of plays that were written during Shaw’s lifetime--and he lived for something like 80 years. There’s serious drama, at least one musical, some comedy, etc. There are at least three different theaters. There are wineries in the area and interesting places to eat. A group of friends and I go to either Niagara on the Lake or Stratford each summer. Stratford is great too but it’s further away. Niagara is about 45 minutes from Niagara Falls.

Day 114
Rest day?  Didn’t get a lunch break today, and didn’t manage a workout

Day 115
20 minutes on treadmill during lunch at a slow pace - still working out the soreness from Sunday
Clogging class - about 90 minutes of dancing, fairly low intensity

Day 116
Roughly 10 minutes of upper body weights, followed by hamstring and heel cord stretching

Day 118
20 minutes walking on treadmill during lunch break.  Not especially intense today - 5% incline at 3.5 mph.

Planning to hit the YMCA sometime tomorrow!

Day 119
Went to the YMCA!  Did 22 minutes on the elliptical, followed by 4 minutes on rower (one round of the fish game)

Thanks for the Niagara Falls info, Joan!  We may take in a play if time allows.  Apparently, we are also spending a couple days in Toronto and hitting a museum or two…

Tried the Kentucky Grilled Chicken today and was disappointed.  I thought it would be skinless, with the seasonings on the chicken.  Wrong!  So once you remove the skin, you have no “secret herbs and spices” on your chicken at all.  It was rather greasy as well…

You are doing great by getting in activities and doing it during lunch is an awesome idea!! I agree the KFC Grilled Chicken is nothing like it appears on tv, but the Long John Silvers Baked Fish, 350 calories and oh so good… yummmm

Take care..
