Yesterday I had to head out to get supplies,So I took a walk to the grocery store and picked up about 9lbs of chicken breast,in an average week I probably eat about 2 to 3lbs of the stuff. When I left the grocery store I went to the farmers market across the street to pick up one of my favorite treats, roasted nuts. There is a place in the market that sells an amazing assortment of roasted and flavored nuts, I had maple and salt coated cashew, they were awesome!
Got home, ate lunch(bet you can’t guess what I had for lunch???) and went to the gym for my back workout. The funny thing is that this week there are barely any DOMS, I think I have to bump up the weights or try for higher reps.

Good going with your exercise which always seems to have a functional component along with the gym stuff.

The nuts sound good.

Time to catch up, Thursday went to the gym to do shoulders, instead of the 45 minutes on the uphill dreadmill I ended doing the tour de nowhere on the stationary bike, due to the fact that the treadmill were all unplugged due to the instillation of some new LCD’s. Took Friday off because I went to do the groceries and ended up waiting a couple of hours for my delivery also it was freezing outside! Saturday, I went to the gym to do arms, when I got to there the 2 tbsp of water left in it was frozen, did arms and it was pretty good, seems to me I was able to lift more. Got home and went for a short walk with my girlfriend to pick some stuff up, I was really tired so we took the bus back, Today I just chilled and took it easy, took a nice 3 hour nap and still feel like i could use a bit more sleep!

Shawn, I have to confess I don’t understand what you meant about 2 tbs of water freezing.

Glad you enjoyed the nap.

Is a storm heading your way also for tomorrow?

Hey, just catching up on your posts.  Looks like you’re doing pretty good.  I hope you’re not freezing to death up there.

Shawn, I’ve read your post multiple times and I’m confused. I get the “so long” (I think) but the fish??? Was that a comment specifically to Carrie??

Hi Joan, I don’t get it but here is where the quote is from (from Wiki)

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish (1984, ISBN 0-345-39183-7) is the fourth book of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series written by Douglas Adams. Its title is the message left by the dolphins when they departed Planet Earth just before it was demolished to make way for a hyperspatial express route, as described in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The phrase has since been adopted by some science fiction fans as a humorous way to say “goodbye” and a song of the same name was featured in the 2005 film adaptation of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Hey there, Joan and M:

I’m sorry to read about Shawn’s departure from the Motivation to Move forums.  His parting quote from Douglas Adams and the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is quite fitting; but, it can also be juxtaposed against the Chinese proverb about fish and yield a result that Adams (and Shawn) have most likely thought of ... ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’ It almost parallels the intention residing in Scott’s words ‘stand up, take a step, repeat.’ I know I’m extrapolating; but, then, look at who Shawn’s been to so many – an encourager, mentor and coach (all via the forums).

Good, good schtuff!

And, RT @Shawn ... definitely, ‘So long, and thanks for all the fish.

‘… you can’t be still, either. Everything is moving. I never used to understand it when they said “it’s better to travel hopefully than to arrive”, but now I totally do - it is the journey. What is important is that when you reach your destination you must select another one, and then another one. And that I think is a hard thing ... because you want to rest.’ ~ Steve Brooks

I couldn’t have said it better myself, Ross.

Farewell, Shawn. I didn’t realize you had left the community. I’ve been on somewhat of an extended hiatus myself. If you ever read this, I just want to say that you were always there supporting me throughout my weight loss journey. With your encouragement and sage advice, I did indeed lose 80lbs in 6 months, and while I was hoping you would be around for the next 80 (still a couple of those to go!) I could only wish one last thing. That is, wherever you went to, you are still moving happily.

Keep on truckin’ baby.
