First off Happy belated New year to everyone! Hope you all got what you wanted for x-mas!
This year my goal is to finish what I started 2 years ago, I decieded to aim for 220. I’m quite big guy Right now BF% is at about 25 I would like to get it down to 10 to 15 % by this time next year.
I have tweaked done some interesting research on Somatypes and it has sort of changed the way I look at things, I figure this is why I put on weight super quickly and have real hard time getting rid of it. I’ve had to rethink my strategy, from the way I eat to the way I train.
I have become more aware of what I am putting in my body and trying to look at food more as fuel, how and when to eat,and the proper macro nutrient breakdown. It’s kind of like mixing rocket to get the best bang!
I also decide to change my training habits, for now I’m going to do a 5 day split at the gym, concentrating body parts and high reps, and some cardio to finish off. I used to train HST, it was very taxing, and when I was done I was very tired and had major DOMS,like for days after, but it was worth it,at the same I have gained a lot of strength. When I started, I was doing DB flies at 35 lbs on my last cycle I was doing them with 60 lbs and this is over 6 month period. But the down fall is that I was to sore to do anything else on my off days.Hopefully by doing less weights spread out over a longer period will work out better for me. I’m going to start Monday.
This week I have been sick with a cold and have found it hard to be active, but I have promised myself to make real effort during the week.
Monday, woke up early jumped on the exercise bike and rode it for 30 minutes walked to the gym and tried to work on my program.Had a hard time breathing because of my cold to longer breaks between sets than usual.Yesterday did a nice hill walk in the beautiful spring like weather and today I stayed in, decided to change my lifting strategy and did some kettlebells had a hard time due to this damn cold.
Hope you are feeling better soon. Sounds like you have a good plan.
Kevin, to answer your question to Shawn - yes he is on Facebook and so am I. Look for us.
Hey Shawn, I hope you’re feeling better by now. It looks like you’ve really done your homework. I’m sure you’re going to get to your goal. I look forward to watching your progress and will be cheering you on. Go Shawn Go!!
It’s good to find that you’re posting on the 100 days thread. You’ve peaked my interest with regard to ‘Somatypes’ and to eating; I’m probably an endomorph. You’ve also reminded me that there’s also the ‘Eat Right for Your Type,’ a book talking about how to eat according to blood type/group. Nutrition ... the what, the when and the how; isn’t it surprising what we can do with nutrition to sustain energy and health; and, then it’s almost a chemistry experiment of correlating what we ingest and looking at what it does in our body. I like the changes or perhaps realizations you’ve had with regard to your training ... our training does have to be something we enjoy, something we can sustain and something that allows us to participate in Life fully. Those are some excellent goals, Shawn. I’ll be kicking things in alongside you, this year, Sir! Do well!
Did the first day of the new workout to say the least it was very challenging, I could barely finish my last set.Finished it up with a 30 minute uphill walk on the treadmill and was surprised that my heart rate remained high the whole time.
Today’s workout wasn’t that bad I’m sure I’m going to feel it tomorrow, basically 4 exercises for the back and a 20 minute uphill walk. Next is legs kind of afraid of this one, I always feel very drained after doing leg exercises, we shall see.
Global warming ... I’d say; from 1990-2000 the seasonal average for these days of January would be -35C to -45C; in the decade before these particular days would be down to the -50C range. We’re noticing that global warming tends to push our colder days back later and later in to January.
Hope your days and workouts have been great, gentleman.
