Tim, what will be the longest time you will run in prep for the marathon? I notice that you keep extending the length of your training. I wouldn’t dare try to pound along for that long, but I admire you for doing it.

The local running group I’ve joined has a 10 mile run every Sunday morning.  The first time I ran with them, two weeks ago, I unexpectedly got caught up in a 14 mile trail run - that was the longest run in my life!

They have a ~15 mile run scheduled for March 1st, which I think will be my last big run in advance of the half marathon on the 21st.

This will be my second ever half marathon, and my goal is to beat my time of my first ever half marathon, which was 2 hours and 20 minutes in Cleveland in May 2005…

I’m considering trying a full marathon later this year…

if you can beat your time from 4 years ago even by a little bit, that would be a major accomplishment. Good luck.

Good for you with the 7 minute mile. I can do that speed only for 90 seconds. . . which doesn’t get me very far!

Tim, your consistent running is impressive. Running has always been my nemesis, so I’ve been training with intervals to build stamina. Gotta say I’ve never timed my mile, but your 7-minute mile sounds like a fun goal. I think I’ll try it tonight and see if I can get past the first minute smile
