You’ve got the right idea with the walking...just keep moving. A little today, more tomorrow, more the day after. Just remember Scott’s mantra...Stand up, take a step, repeat”.

Three areas you should consider to focus on building are Strength, Flexibility and Cardio. Walking is a good start, but you’ll also want to add some resistance training, some stretching and then something that will bring your heart rate up beyond walking even if only for a short period - but before you even start this path, I would speak to your physician or primary care provider to ensure body is up for the challenge. It’s best to have a well trained advocate in your doctor… so always start there first, and who knows - they may even have some great professional advice to share to keep from any complications arising down the road.

Good luck, be good and remember to let your breath happen…

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

Walking is a great way to start!!

What goals do you have for you first 100 days beyond loosing some weight (which is an important goal!) Are there specific reasons - like just wanting to feel better or be healthier?

Adam is right - you’ll want to add in some strenght training once you get going.  Building muscle will help you burn more fat.  Weight training has definietly made a positive difference in my body.  But keep it simple to start with and as you build the exercise habit you can add more variety to your routine and pick up more knowledge to develop a training program!!

Good Luck… I’ll be looking for your post from your Day 1 ..... and your Day 100 so start placing one foot in front of the other and REPEAT!!

Welcome to the forum, Priya!

Walking is a great way to start.  Make sure it is brisk enough that you are getting your heart rate up.

Do you have much you want to lose?  Do you have any goals?

Once again, welcome to the forum, it is great to have you here.  And Happy Birthday!!!

Welcome Priya!! How was your birthday?

Walking was the way I started, and it did wonders. Yoga is also wonderful, it has the strength training and stretching in one!
