Wow- I really wanted to be part of this and felt that I could offer quite a bit to the group. I was hoping I wouldn’t be priced out, but it is much too costly for my salary and no income coming in until September. I wish everyone who signs up the best as I am sure it will be a great experience.
For now I will continue to look forward to Daily Boost, Fitness Boost, and Motivation to Move shows that I get to listen to each day. They are very motivating.  I have learned a great deal on how to become much more fit and am loving every minute of it.

Michael,
Now if you were a Sharks fan i might be willing to work with you and even think about signing you to a 6 month contract on a sharing basis.  Damn Campbell…
Understand the money thing, though my profession somewhat keeps me ok (that’s not for Scott to hear), but it’s all about getting to that next level.  Keep with the Premium and look to join the MasterMIND if you hear great feedback.  And to keep Scott honest, i will give you feedback as i think Scott and i have lots in common and will take it to a GREAT level.  I’ve always wanted to surf some of those Florida waves and visit the area, so Joi, Carlyn, and Scott need to think about the fun places to visit when I’m there...love sushi!
Best to you, and back to the new John Mayer album…
Kevin

It’s funny how money impacts decisions.  I’ve noticed that when I sort of want something, as in nice to have but expensive, the money can be a deciding factor, but when I’m really committed, I can always find the money somewhere.  I can either cut back on non essentials, or somehow find a way to make a bit extra, or just be very very conscious of what and how I’m spending.  Free is great to a point, but when there is a cost, then the perception of value changes, as does the motivation to “get your money’s worth”.  So maybe no $$$ now, but if you really want something, the $$$ towards that goal will happen.

Derek - I’m sorry to hear about the accident and I can appreciate your pain.  I’ve been dealing with various sports injuries for the past 20 ( ohh ) years.  The most recent was a broken foot (about 3 years ago) with surgery to rebuild it.  I have an old back and knee injury that still cause problems - some days better, some days worse than others.  I’m currently on a workout program to help strengthen the muscles around my knee and working on my core.  Consider that the MasterMind program might help you get through this, and keep your options open.  If not, just keep moving and hopefully you will be in a position where you can join the MasterMind in January.

Kevin - It’s going to be fun exchanging ideas with you.  I’m also at a very busy time in my life.  Nothing better than adding something like this to keep things in perspective.  What I love about this program is that it will be 100% portable.

To all fellow MasterMinders - I can’t wait to get started.

Thanks for the words Paula.  I soul searched for a couple days prior to my decision, and kept saying “Heck yah! I’m gonna do it”. It was a no brainer, but then I would remember the out clause.  If you sign up and quit, then you are out until then next (Jan09) registration.  A big part of this is the group aspect and by coming and going, you lose that synergy and trust amonst your peers.  Due to the fact that back surgery is still a possibility, I decided not to let my teammates down, and I opted out this time.  My group will be blessed to have me in January, though, so look out.

As far as the cash aspect goes ... folks, this might sound harsh, but here’s where it is.  149 per month.  Its not that much.  It’s all about priorities.  Where are yours at?  You all have computers and internet subscriptions, some have gym memberships, and I bet a few even smoke.  Regardless, you wanted these things and found the cash for them.  If you really want this, you will find the cash for it too.  If you can’t cut back any farther then learn how to expand your income.  We all have it within us to take it to the next level physically, mentally and financially.  You’ve got 6months to figure it out.  I hope you’re on my team!

Cheers!

I hope everyone who signed up will get the most out of it! Unfortunately, a combination of my Graduate student salary and increasing food and living expenses in Britain, I won’t be able to afford it.

To be honest, I am a bit worried that it may affect the premium membership, of which I am a very happy member. Is this the start of a shift away from the current model of a large number of subscribers who pay relatively low amounts to a low number who pay a lot more? Are all of the new features talked about over the last 6 months going to be Mastermind only, or will we premium members get some too?

Sorry - I don’t mean to sound a bit negative, but I could do with some reassurance - I don’t want to see the end of my beloved premium membership! smile

Dude, for me that’s my car payment. I’m strapped. If I skim down any more, I won’t be able to buy groceries. It’s all about what we can and cannot do, not necessarily that we are doing stuff that is keeping us from what we want. This is real life. Some of us just don’t have the extra money, period!

My take on the Mastermind (MM), is that is goes above and beyond the premium membership.  Don’t forget MM members are required to have a premium membership.  I’m making a commitment for 6 months of MM, but will continue with premium after that, so I want to see the quality of MTM stay high as always.  The MTM podcasts and community are the base that MM is built on.  Without it, there would be no MM.  I’m sure Scott and Carlyn will make sure that the base remains strong.  Regarding the new features going to MMs only:  I don’t think it would be fair for some of us to pay $149/mo for these only to find that premium members get them free.  I think Premium members should get a special rate for each item as it becomes available (book, CDs, conference, etc).

Hey Guys~

I’m just about ready to start goofing off for the weekend but I wanted to jump in on this conversation and comment of a couple of your comments.

I’ve already started using the Vitabot Meal planning tool.  I input the food I ate yesterday and found that I was lacking in some of my vitamins and minerals and my balance of Carb/Protein/Fat was off.

Good.  Good.  Good.  It’s a great program and will really help you.

Will the Vitabot Meal Planning tool be available for ALL members at some point for a nominal fee? Or is it just for Masterminders?

Yes.  It’s taken us time to integrate all the pieces into our system but we’re almost there.

Our goal to create an automated, seemless and unified log-in across our system that would allow anybody to use VitaBot.  That will be up and running in a week or so… depending on the programmers.

Actually, we started with the MasterMIND and ended up manually setting up access for all our members.  Carlyn had LOTS of fun.

One more thing.  To make all this happen we had to install a shopping cart system… something we’ve needed for a long time… so we now have a way of offering T-Shirts and other fun stuff that you have been asking for.

One… Step… At… A… Time!

Cool!  I love to be held accountable!  The MasterMIND will take us all to the next level… not just members of the group.  And… come on down!  The water’s warm and the sushi is great!

Paula is right on this one.  It’s a Universal Law.  When you put more out… you get more back.  Not just money… everything.

Thanks for that.  I spent weeks trying to pinpoint the perfect price.  Not too high… not too low.  Trust me… it wasn’t an easy decision.  I landed on a number that would allow us to provide an amazing experience and still be reachable to a large number of folks… IF they wanted to.

To be honest, I am a bit worried that it may affect the premium membership, of which I am a very happy member. No need to worry.  The “model” you speak of is at my core.  I believe in it and I will continue to offer it… no matter what other levels, features or services we offer.

Honesty, the energy that has been generated from the MasterMIND is already trickling down into Premium so I only expect that to continue.

As far as new features?

Our model is still developing and our user base is always evolving.  In the future expect some of the new stuff will be free, some Premium, some MasterMIND and some totally separate.

In any case, you will continue to receive and amazing value just like aways.

Let me get this one too!

The MTM podcasts and community are the base that MM is built on.  Without it, there would be no MM.  I’m sure Scott and Carlyn will make sure that the base remains strong.

You are completely right.  We take our “base” very seriously and work hard every day to make sure things stay strong.

Regarding the new features going to MMs only:  I don’t think it would be fair for some of us to pay $149/mo for these only to find that premium members get them free.  I think Premium members should get a special rate for each item as it becomes available (book, CDs, conference, etc).

Again… you’re right.

MasterMIND members are ALL Premium Members but have opted for a different level of motivation to move their life to the next level. Because of your choice - you get some perks.  That’s just the right thing to do!

Premium Members also get many perks - just at a different level.

There will be discounts on products as we introduce them in the future and of course you’ll all be invited to our conferences.

Trust me.  I spend many, many hours chatting with Carlyn, Joi and our members to find the right balance that’s good for MTM and our members.  So far… I think we’re doing a pretty good job!

Hey guys -

Congratulations to the charter Master Mind class - I look forward to benefiting from the impact the group has on Scott and MTM. smile

I am very interested in the program, and am bummed that I won’t be a part of the group, but after a lot of thought over the last year, I recently committed to an MBA program.  So in addition to my full time job, my volunteer activities, and my workouts, I’ll also be a full time student!  Yikes.  Sometimes you have to prioritize, so for the next two years my financial and mental resources are going to be focused on my classwork.

But I have a feeling the MM program will still be around after I graduate.  See you then!

Oh, and to Emmi - I hear you sister!  It is all too easy for people who don’t know your circumstances to tell you what you should be doing.

Umm ... I am not trying to tell anyone what to do.  I was just challenging people without the funds to find the funds if the program is that important to you.  That’s all.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Finding funds isn’t always that easy.  I fully understand that people have priorities and that they need to be responsible with spending.  Finding the funds takes time and energy so it’s perfectly OK for someone to say: “I can’t join now, but I have 6 months to prioritize my spending and save the money”.  In fact that is much more responsible than just putting it on the credit card and saying “I’ll find the money”.

Yes, the money is going to be there for the things we want the most.  By focusing on that and working towards the goal, it will happen, it just may not be this minute.

Back when I was in the middle of a career change, I saved all my change in a jar as my “ME Money” I used that to attend a personal development seminar I had wanted to attend 6 months before.  The money didn’t just happen - I consciously put it there, and I had the experience I wanted.  My challenge for people is to be responsible, make a conscious decision, then take action for the next 6 months and we’ll see you in the MasterMind program in January.

Wow, a great plan Paula!  I will use it.  Like many others I can’t do it now, as much as I would like to.
