OK, there are several of us who need to put a bit more focus on this part of our eating.

This challenge is simple, eat your regular meals and snacks. And IF you feel the need to eat at other times, ask yourself if its because of hunger, or emotion. And if its emotion, don’t eat.

I’m starting this myself tomorrow, Saturday May 24. And it will last a week, but since I know its Memorial Weekend, and there are lots of us out of town, or otherwise not going to know about this until Tuesday. So we’ll keep the challenge going until Wednesday, June 4th.

Who’s on board?

Sounds like a great plan… for me it is stress eating.  These next few weeks I am going to not be getting in as much exercise as I’d like and sometimes it’s too easy to snack my way through study sessions.  Have to plan what I’m going to have around for snacks - lots of carrots (no dip!)

I’m in.  This is an especially good time for me as I have PMS and have been eating more than I should the last couple days.  So this will get me back on track.

Thanks Bree for coming up with the idea.

Count me in too.  I’m going to have to start tomorrow the 25th because I just now read about it.  It will be tough tomorrow because we are heading over to my sister’s for a day by the pool and BBQ ribs.  I tend to graze when there is lots of food hanging around.  I’ll still follow those guidelines.  This will be VERY challenging for me.  Thanks for coming up with it Bree.

Here we go!

Today went well, had one lapse putting groceries away. I’ll do better tomorrow! Glad y’all are in too!

I have not done badly… except for the 1/2 chocolate bar that was calling out to me left over from my last chochlat craving (aka PMS).  I had said I could have it as a reward after finishing my assignment, but ... well the assignment is still in progress and the chochlat bar is gone.  But there is no more and I usually only can’t control my urge to buy chochlate at that certain time!!  Had some carrots for a snack later in the day and fruit for desert, so hopefully it balances out.

Ok, I avoided joining this thread (like the plague).
But the bottom line is ..... I must conquer the emotional eating.
(that and the mindless eating—maybe work on that after this!)

I have started to talk a little more about my emotional eating!
This is a good thing.
I want to string a few (many) days together.

This is a start.
No time like the present!
Count me in.

Yesterday was pretty good as far as emotional eating.
Success was mine.

This is a great idea.  What I’ll need to do to make this work for me is to strategize what I WILL do for myself when I’m emotional. Maybe I’ll get a little cute stuffed animal and put it in my purse or something. I don’t want to ignore my emotions either. I have the tendency to eat sweet or starchy foods when stressed out.  Often I employ “music therapy” these days, playing the right tunes in my office, to help me cope.

Welcome to the challenge, Cleda!

Today should be a real challenge, I’m crabby from Mouse whining, and Hubby’s been up since 4am slow smoking a boston butt. Later will be a ton of pork to pull, and then all that goodness just sitting there.

I’m going to try to pick up or clean something when the urge to eat strikes and its not hunger.

I’m glad to see that there are more of us getting in on this challenge.  We can all help each other.

I did alright today.  I can’t say I did any emotional eating but I did choose to eat foods that were not exactly on my diet plan.  I ate when I was hungry without over eating so I think I did okay.  I start back on my diet tomorrow.

I did Ok today too… except for the cake that was at the family get together.  I had two skinny helpings.  But I have likely not eaten enough for the day so I think total calorie wise I am fine.

I did well today.
I had food packed for work, which made my choices limited.
I was tired (now) when I got home, so opted for some water and a soft lemonade pop.

Now I know I’m tired, so it’s off to bed.
No substituting food for sleep!

I did okay.  Had some family over and cooked out, chicken and lots of vegetables.  Had some ice cream for desert (Ben & Jerry’s was on sale.  I had to buy it. But just had a small dish)

I did so well yesterday, until we put away the mountain of pulled pork. It is so yummy! It was smoked and slow roasted in the grill for 14 hours, I didn’t eat a ton, but I wasn’t hungry so I shouldn’t have eaten any.

Hey Bree --- gotta ask you .... about the watermelon and the watermelon man ...
Is it from a movie? (I’m probably way out of touch with that stuff.) ....
I find it quite umm… intrigueing! wink

And step away from the pork.
You tried it, it’s over.
New day—you get a “do-over” ... wink

Nope, the watermelon man is part of this really goofy e-mail I got that was all food sculptures. It really cracked me up, so I’ve been using them as my avatars lately.

The power of the pork is strong, so yummy. I had some for lunch, and some for supper. Otherwise I’ve been very good today. Gum is a wonderful thing.

Oh, and all the coolers at Wal-Mart failed, so they weren’t selling ice cream. Thank God for miracles!
