It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Congratulations on finishing your first 100 days.  It is such a simple idea but the accountability really works doesn’t it?

Jogging outside is sooo much different than on the treadmill.

My training for my next race will be mostly outdoors....real world runs!

What is your normal pace?

Good workouts! keep them up

Tom -

Only the occassional spring rain is keeping me inside on the treadmill.  Today was one of those days, unfortunately…

Jogging out on the National Mall (as in, from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol building and back) has gotten me outside quite a bit during the past few months, but several readers seem either confused or amused by my posts about running “out on the Mall.”

My race pace is just under 10 minutes per mile, but to keep the heart rate at 75% of max I’m closer to 11 minutes per mile.  My typical distance is 3 to 4 miles, and my longest run ever was back in spring 2005 when I ran a half marathon.

thanks for the update Tim....

Hey are you going to do the Phiddipidations World Wide Half in October?  It’s a self supported one, and you share your time with the rest of the world who is doing it the same weekend, (just not together in the same place)
