Hi, M!
I had my first-and-only pedicure last year, on the day of a friend’s wedding. It was a rusharound day but I decided to get a mani-pedi from a gift certificate that I had been given. The pedicure turned out to be relaxing, and my biggest fear was ticklish feet, but that wasn’t a problem. On the other hand, I had put off shaving my legs until just before getting ready for the wedding, so I got a leg massage up to the knee and wasn’t particularly smooth. The off-putting thing that day was the man who did my manicure, while a very quiet and sweet woman worked on my feet. The man was very chatty and flirty, a little too much for me while being touched so much.
I do know a Mary Kay representative, but I have an aversion to those home party type sales. I don’t want to host a party or ask my friends to spend money on stuff they don’t need, so I avoid that whole ‘circuit.’ I would prefer to go to a department store counter or a Sephora store. Just me.
I have worn contacts off-and-on in the past. They do take a bit getting used to, especially taking them out and putting them in with confidence. I am just disappointed with the level of correction on mine. I haven’t worn them since Friday, though I do need to break them in more.
I just sat in a restaurant over a light dinner and had a notebook, so I added some more things to my self-confidence/pampering list. One is buying myself a fancy nightie, mind you just for me, as I live alone, but something a dear (and funny) friend suggested last summer. The other is joining Mensa or another club of sorts. I still want to do the facial some Saturday too.
