Wow, it feels like the holiday season was just yesterday, and we’re already approaching the next set!  While some of the tips might be the same, Easter and Passover definitely have their own sets of challenges.

So, what are you best tips for getting through Easter dinner or Passover seder?  If we start thinking about it now, we’ll definitely be ready when the time comes!

BTW - my best tip for getting through seder is to have a small, healthy snack before seder starts.  Otherwise, I get so hungry during the first half of seder (before the meal) that I eat *way* too much when the food is served.

Cheers,
Julie

Oh… Easter dinner was never as much of a problem as Easter candy!! I remember one year in particular, I was doing especially well on my diet and exercise and begged my Mom not to bring me 10 pounds of candy.

So she ended up creating THE coolest Easter basket ever: a full exotic fruit ensemble! (well… as exotic as our local supermarkets allowed!) She packed it with star-fruit, kiwi, pomegranate, mangos… all the things that would make my taste buds (and eyes) bug out, without the chocolate hangover.

I’d definitely recommend it for any Moms with fruit-loving kids.

And now? Well, I just avoid the “seasonal” aisle with all the candy at the supermarket smile

The Idea of the fruit basket is a great thing I did it for a friend on Valentine’s Day. I gave her a basket of assorted fruits and unsalted nuts, something good and healthy to enjoy.  wink

We are planning on going to a restaurant for Easter Brunch buffet.  My plan, unless the weather is really bad, is to walk to the restaurant, probably about 1.5 miles.  Second is to fill my first plate with salad and fruit and check out what else they have.  Then I will take small portions of the other items that I want.
