I THINK I FELT THE CLICK!
It is now twenty-one days after my last post, and I heard the click earlier this week. I’ve been consistent in my walking, and have maintained four days of exercise and healthy eating.  I feel a change in my brain, and in my body. I feel “lighter.” Not really lighter because I haven’t lost any weight, but I feel comfortable. These different foods have already begun to make a difference I think.

I have a long road ahead, but I’ve begun the journey, and I know it will never end--I’ll just feel better as I keep moving along the road to health.

Thanks for reading.

Wahhhooooooooo Kris! on feeling the Click.
(this gives me hope that I too will some day feel it, get it, etc.) ....

It’s interesting when you talk about some “pitiful days” on the pedometer of only 2000 steps. I was surprised in my pedometer wearing days that 2000 was my norm! How discouraging is that??? Kudos to you for upping and trying for 10,000.

Congratulations on getting your click!  Don’t worry the weight will come off.  Your body is just adjusting to the changes and making sure you keep them up.

Hey Cleda,
I think what has been hard for me is reading so many posts by so many people who are able to do so much. I tend to be an “all or nothing” thinker, so when I read people’s posts who seemingly have “arrived” and are able to do so much more than I can dream of at this point, I tend to feel like those goals are unreachable for me.  So four days in a row of healthy eating and exercising (and liking what it feels like!) is really a big deal for me.

It’s now 1:15 PM in Eastern PA. I just cleaned up from a healthy lunch with my family (which we enjoyed together.) I walked three miles this morning at the park, and halfway through the day my pedometer actually reads 11072.  It’s amazing to think that these steps came easy!

I’m hopeful today, and I’m living in the moment.  “I’ve got a plan and I’m OK....the life I choose is starting now!”
Keep in touch. I appreciate your kindness.

Hey Eileen,
Thanks for that encouragement. I am hopeful that my body will adjust and I will see a change in my weight in the next two weeks...if I just keep at it!
Thanks!

OK, so who are you, and what did you do with Kristen?  It’s almost as if I am a totally different person today. Unbelievable. I met my major goals with exercise and eating, and I ended up putting over 16,000 steps on my pedometer! IT’s THE CLICK! IT MUST BE!  grin

Unbelievable, but I’m doing it again tomorrow! I almost don’t want to go to bed for fear it will end. But it won’t....if I MAKE IT HAPPEN.

So yesterday was an interesting/challenging day. My husband had surgery on his sinuses on Friday and he needed me to be at home yesterday, about the time that I was going to head to the park to do my LSB.  When it was finally OK to leave (4-5 hours later) I wasn’t in the mood to go to the park, but I knew I needed to move. So, rather than sitting in the chair in the LR, I went shopping--for the walk : ).  I was able to get my 10,000+ steps in for the day, and Sunday was my one day of rest from the workout.  It turned out OK.  (I tend to be an all or nothing thinker, so this was good for me.)

My husband wanted stromboli for dinner, so I looked up the calories, had a 10 oz. piece, and stayed on track. (Usually having a meal from the local pizza shop means an overeating binge, so this was a significant step.)

The click came last Tuesday--today is the seventh day. It’s interesting the ebb and flow of motivation.  Three days ago I was maniacal and successful. Yesterday I was not maniacal but successful.  Today has yet to be written, but I a have a vision for what I want it to be, and I’m moving forward with intention.

Thanks for reading.

Hello Dr Kris!  Sounds like you’re off to a great start.  Have you thought about joining the 100 day challenge?

Hi Candace,
I had joined the 100 day challenge before, but I didn’t make it the 100 days--soooooo, I’ve been a little gun shy of embarrassing myself again by dropping off the face of the earth before the end of the 100 days.  But that was then--pre-click--so maybe now is the time to rejoin that thread.  May I count the first 7 days as part of my 100? Or is that against the rules?  wink

I am up to 12,617 steps so far today and there are three hours to go. grin

Will I see you over there?

Dr. Kris,

You can count the 7 days if you want, this is only a competition with yourself, so it is totally up to you. cheese

Of course you can!!  I found this side about a month after I started working out seriously.  That is why I have an official Day 100 (actual days on this site - only 4 days to go!!) and an unofficial Day 100 - which was several weeks ago.  The total number of days is not as mportant to me as keeping moving long term!!  Remember you can count rest days!!  They are an important part of a training program!!
