Ello Charlene!!

Oh my goodness that is a wonderful idea, Thank you very much! I’ll see if I can do that with my hand rails. LOL.. the pun was very appropriate there. Too funny!!

Can you believe that I got a late birthday present from my eldest daughter tonight, HAND WEIGHTS with Walking Away The Pounds- 3 MILE DVD! How awesome is that!?! I cut and pasted the video on one of my blogs earlier, saying this dvd is so mine…

I just joined the Premium Membership, two weeks ago, and I truely love it too. Think it was fate finding it in fact. Last July, I had a bad case of fainting spells (heart condition), realizing then I had to get my tush into action and move, and waalaa, found Scott’s MTM when I needed it the most. So with that being typed....Congrats on your expensive Treadmill! As you can tell, I believe in the power of Attraction too! Kudos to you for reading “The Secret”; love that book. Positive additudes, and being grateful for all the little things in life has always been my Goal in Life.. the author just made it more meaningful.

Now to get back on track.. tongue laugh I was so determined to do the Treadmill properly, so I did some ‘homework’. I actually did it them, I didn’t do to bad at it either!!

Here’s the website I found, interesting tidbits:
http://walking.about.com/od/treadmillworkouts/ss/treadmillmistak.htm

Thank you again for taking the time to share with me, I really enjoyed it.

Hi Suzzy,
Thank you for sharing with me as well! your a lovely person! Welcome to MTM ,so nice to meet a nice person such as you!
Have you seen the movie: “The Secret”? It is captivating for sure! Your statement about being grateful for the little things,
IS the best secret in achieving true happiness! My mom always impressed upon me to see THE GOOD in every aspect of
life! At a very young age, I became very engrossed in the teachings of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, and “The Power of Possitive Thinking”. I still listen to the audiobook every day,as I have it on cassettes!I have a young boy, Christopher who
was diagnosed with “autism”. He is 5 now and making miraculous improvements! (autisim school 3 yrs) The school dept.
is now making plans for “mainstreaming” next year! God is Great! My pediatrician marvels as i say,” I never took belief in
the diagnosis” When life takes you out of the rabbit hole, ALL things ARE POSSIBLE!! I wish you the very best, and i hope to hear back from you! Thanks for the website info,as it is very benificial!
Sincerely,
Charlene I included a picure of my 10yr. old Marie

Charlene, that’s a wonderful idea about removing the handrails.  If they’re not on the treadmill, you *definitely* can’t hold on to them!  I love it!  Also, your daughter is absolutely adorable.

Just a quick note about join dates and premium memberships: the “join date” in someone’s profile marks the first time they joined, whether as a premium or basic member.  If they joined as a basic member and later upgraded to premium, the “join date” will still be the date they joined as a basic member, not the date they upgraded.  Suzzy, if you joined months ago and only just upgraded to premium membership a few weeks ago, welcome to the premium side!  We’re so happy to have you!  And Charlene, we’re happy to have you too!

I hope this clears up the confusion!

Cheers,
Julie

Oh my goodness Lady you are a Poet, but I’m thinking you do know it...LOL Thank you for the laughs, and you keep practising those impressions. Love it, and there went 40 Calories thanks to you!

Hey, I never heard of that Author, but I will definitely look him up. Sounds very interesting. I believe in Positive Thinking too, thats why I joined the Premium Membership the ppl here and Scott all have positive attitudes, and all that I met so far are very helpful, and friendly. Its a very rare community.  As for the Movie “The Secret”, noooo never seen it, but I would luv too tho. I read the book while I was having a very relaxing day alone at the beach, I couldnt put it down!! Now you stay cool, stay in touch. Hey your a Premium Member too; Welcome!

Thank you Julie for explaining the basic member thingy vs the PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP, plus the warm welcome to the premium side, its totally appreciated. Charrlie has a good eye for details....lol I never gave up Hope and I’m 100% Satisfied.

Have a good weekend Ladies.

Suzzy,
Thanks for the thread.  I, too, have been struggling with holding on to the treadmill handrails.  I take them off and before I know it I am holding on again.  I am going to try the suggestions given by others and make a conscious effort to let go.  The websites cited were a help.

I like the idea of holding onto stress balls and trying to not squeeze them. Or just squeeze them every few strides. For me, when I hold my hands too tight, the tightness transfers up to my neck and shoulders and makes the workout hurt. But I have a tendency to hold my shoulders up too high anyway.

Let us know what works for you!

Hi Bree,
I like your idea about the holding the balls! However, we are all different, and what may work well for me, may not work for someone else! I have heard your thoughts on the 1st smsm seminar series! you helped me in many ways with some great ideas! Im happy and ive learned to shut my face! im so glad we are all at peace! learning process for me.
Thank you all, as i look foward to a fresh start!
Sincerely,
Charlene

Thanks again Suzzy for starting the thread.  Tonight I did my whole walk without holding on.  I did find it was a harder workout .  I was only able to do 45 minutes and I was counting down the last few minutes.  I didn’t do any of the tricks, I just let my arms swing naturally and just concentrated on not holding on.

Hello Eileen..

I’m so glad this thread was helpful to you as well. and your very welcome.  So glad to know that I’m not alone in the quest. ((applauds you)) Bravo to you for walking the walk without holding on!!!  I’m taking things slowly but each day I try to do a little more. The intensity level soared when I used my arms , and light hand weights really helps so I can focus on holding my head up and ever so often checking my posture. Someday soon tho, I’m planning on buying those Happy hand weights. They look very user friendly.  Your quote says it all. love it! Slow and Steady does win the Race!

Bree…

I think I am squeezing too, and thats maybe why my hands are sore lately!?! Thank you for the pointers, Ha! Here I was thinking it was Arthritis, so you cant imagine the relief I’m feeling over your theory!  Thank you grin
