Was too late to walk outside plus they said we may get thunder showers (which we haven’t so far). I realized another good thing about walking outside besides the fresh air, sunshine, scenery and greeting other people that are walking. You can’t quit halfway through the walk unless you can catch a bus going by. I was thinking that as I was walking on the treadmill and thinking how easy it would be just to turn it off and walk upstairs and be done. But I stuck it out for the full time.
Good Job for sticking it out!! There are days when I’d like to quit early too. If I’m really struggling I may slow down a bit, but I always feel a sence of accomplishment if I finish my time. I’m sure you did too!!
Tomorrow I will walk at lunch time as I have a dinner to go to tomorrow night.
Saturday it is the MS Walk. I started doing the walk a few years ago when my sister was diagnosed with MS. She is 7 years younger than me. She has been walking too but it gets harder each year for her. It is about a 5 1/2 mile walk. The first year she made it but had to stop several times towards the end. The next year she had to lean on us (me and my other sister) a lot as her legs just stop cooperating after a couple miles. Last year she ended up grabbing one of the golf cart rides for the last part. This year she has decided to just do the shorter 2 mile route. I encourage all of you to join an MS Walk in your area or the Cancer Society Relay for Life, or any other walks or runs in your area. It is a great way to get in your workout and you will be helping a great cause.
Day 75 - Just back from the MS Walk. It was about 5.5 miles. The best part was that I raised over $588, our team almost $2000 and for the whole walk over $73,000. My sister ended up just doing a mile. Her legs were already starting to stiffen up at that point and she was walking with a freind who also has MS and was having more difficulties so they caught a ride with the van back. I walked the rest of the way with my brother and niece.
Good job on the MS walk. My grandmother had MS. It is wonderful that you are helping support your sister with her challenges by participating in the MS walk.
Oh and I see you are down another pound. I’m still chasing you.. but you are getting closer to getting below that 200 mark. Way to go!!
Day 78 - no rain today so back outside for my hour walk. Though not as nice as it was last week. It was cloudy and 45 degrees. But still nice to be outside.
Day 79 - unplanned rest day - I was just too tired
Day 80 - planned rest day
Day 81 - 60 min LSB on the treadmill, cold and rainy again so no outside walk. It was a struggle to get in the full hour as I hadn’t been on the treadmill for a little while because I was walking outside.
The weather threw off my whole day. I had plans of getting the lawn mowed and other yard work done and getting errands done. And when I woke up to cold and rainy I just deflated. I should have been flexible but wasn’t and ended up not really doing anything. It is rainy and cold again today but doday I will get lots done inside.
It was actually one big machine with three sides. It had pictures to show you how to use it. I did some leg curls for front and back, some stuff for arms, back, chest, shoulders. Just had time to one rep each as I on my lunch hour.
Day 86 - mix and match, some Yardio finishing up raking then about 1/2 hour LSB on the treadmill.
Day 87 - planned rest day
Day 88 - back outside for a walk - about 3 miles. The lilacs are just barely starting to bloom so I got real close when I walked by any bushes so I could smell them.
