Outside walk, went a little later so it was a little cooler.  Didn’t go by the wetlands today so couldn’t check out the beavers.

It was a hot, muggy night so went to the gym to do my cardio.  Did the treadmill and elliptical.

Thanks Denise!  I love the giraffe.

Almost took a rest day but sfter reading some posts decided against it.

Gym night - did the usual routine, this time 2 sets of 20, though a few of them I upped the weight on the second set and only did 15 or 18.

Hi Eileen, I can just imagine you cardio-ing your way around in all these different ways. It is so funny to read.
(Just catching up on your thread now since last time...) what are your plans for today?

Good Job for making it to the gym to get workouts in despite beign too hot or not totally feeling like it!!
I’m glad to see you are getting in some weight training and paying attention to challenging yourself by upping the loads!!  Have you found and “new” muscle yet?  You will soon!!

Thanks gals.

Today is my planned rest day.  Thursday nights I have dinner with my mother.

Catherine, I am finding my muscles, especially in my arms (because there is less fat to hide the muscles) but I can tell the difference in my legs also.

Tomorrow is a cardio day, hopefully will be a nice evening for a walk.

I was planning to walk last night but when I got home I decided that I had neglected my house for too long.  DUring the week by the time I come home from work, go to the gym or walk, fix and eat my dinner, there isn’t much time to more than just the basics - dishes, laundry, straightening up.  And then on the weekends, who wants to spend the time indoors cleaning.

So anyway, last evening and this morning I spent cleaning the basement - scrubbing floors in the unfinished part, vaccuuming in the finished part, getting rid of junk, etc.  Now I am going to load up the car and take a trip to the landfill.

Hihi… ! Because you are outside so much!! grin Cannot use the walks/gyms etc as an excuse can you.. wink
This falls under the heading of -which I have forgotten the proper term now pff...- what Scott mentioned some times lately being “usable fitness’, (as I said I fogot his term, what was it?) when you have a more active lifestyle in general it is not hard to make the decision that the household needs some attention now and it is not an un-overcomable obstacle either, as soon as you’ve put yourself to take the first step… but in the same time, some moments need to be re-integrated in the whole system timetable
I notice some changes here around my own household too (of course I also do have more washing to do, with all of these sweaty shirts)

Hi All!

If you haven’t noticed, I haven’t been around for a little while.  I was on vacation last week.  I went to Maine for a couple of the days but the rest of the time I hung around home.  But I decided to take time off from MTM and exercise also.  I have been moving for over 6 months and decided a break would be good for me.

I did do some walking in Maine on the beach and on some nature trails.  The rest of the time I spent catching up on some reading, relaxing, visiting with family, going to movies, etc.  I did have a birthday(# 49) and had a nice dinner at my mom’s with my brother and his familly as his birthday is 4 days before mine.

I also let myself eat whatever I wanted and found that that was a lot less than it used to be, and much healthier choices also.

So I started my vacation weighing 205 and when I weighed myself this morning I weighed, drum roll please, 205.

I got right back into it.  Yesterday I went to the gym in the afternoon and took an hour walk in the evening.  Today it was Yardio, mowing the back yard before the rains come again.

Wednesday July 23 - Rainy night so went to the gym.  Was planning on warming up on the treadmill and then do the weight machines.  The Red Sox game was on the TV in the 7th inning so decided to warm up until the game was done.  Well, 1 hour and 15 minutes later it was in the 11th inning and still tied.  So didn’t end up doing weights, just the 75 minute LSB.  By the way, as I was driving home the Red Sox scored and ended up winning the game.

Thursday July 24 - scheduled rest day.

Saturday July 26th.  I was planning on a nice walk outside but a thunder storm has at least postponed that.  While I’m waiting to see if it will pass I decided to post a few pictures from my trip to Maine.

I want to go back to Maine!!  I was there briefly in 2001 enroute to Nova Scotia.  Didn’t get to spend much time, just enough to know it is a place I’d like to visit again.  I love the surf picture you got!!

I ended up not doing anything last night for exercise.  So I did a 2 hour walk today.

I am also posting a couple more pictures from Maine.  The first is a little fuzzy but it is a dragonfly I came across

It was gym night tonight but I just didn’t have the motivation.  I did a 10 minute warmup on the elliptical, then did the lower body exercises - leg curls, leg extensions, hip abductor/adductor.  I also did lat pulldowns but then just didn’t have the desire/motivation/energy to do anymore.

I’m still impressed that you gave it an effort and made it to the gym anyway.  Get a good nights rest and see how you are feeling tomorrow.

You are so close to our next common goal of getting below 200.  Keep going - you’re going to get there before I do!
