Greetings Everyone!

I’m 42 & after many years of fighting my weight & making excuses to myself, I took control.  I’ve been working with a trainer at 24 Hour Fitness since Dec. 1st.  At my last measurement, in early January, I had lost 14 pounds, inches all over the place & as well as 2% body fat.  I have measurements again tonight & a cheering squad of friends encouraging me to continue pushing myself.

I work on an Eliptical trainer for 24-30 mins on Level 3-4, about 3-5 times per week & weight train.  I shot for at least a 1000 cal. def.  each day, to stay on track for losing fat & building muscle.

I stumbled across MTM podcasts when I recently received an iPod.  The shows are wonderful & it’s fantastic to know there are so many others going through EXACTLY the same challenges.  Not to mention the motivation to know others are winning the war & I can too.  Oh, one more exciting thing for me - I have asthma & once I started steady workouts, my lung functioning has drastically improved.

So, here I am at my official 100-day challenge DAY 1.  After measurements tonight, I plan on cardio, abs & weight train arms, shoulders, back, chest.

Best wishes to each of you on your programs!

Congratulations on your 14 lb. loss!  I, too, stumbled across MTM on iTunes, and it has motivated me so much.  I love to listen to the podcasts.  Good luck with your program!

I also found MTM through iTunes and I am now on Day 59.  Sounds like you’re motivated!  Congrats on the 14 pounds!

There is a great group of people here on the Boards—very helpful and very supportive!  Welcome!!

Thanks for the encouragement, gals!

My measurements went well.  In the past month, I’ve lost 10 pounds of fat & gained 3 pounds of muscle.  It was a fantastic boost for me to see results in the numbers.

Tonight’s workout was 20 min of cardio of the Eliptical trainer, Level 3 and weight train biceps & triceps.  I was tired & just couldn’t do the rest of the upper body tonight.  I’ll make suer I hit it harder Friday night.

Here’s my update:

Day 2 - not quite as I expected.  We had major traffic problems in Denver (sinkhole on the highway) & the commute home took several hours.  I didn’t have enough time for the full workout I planned, so I did do 20 minutes of walking.  Also, I was so bored in the car on the way home, that I started doing some abs exercises in my seat - I was the passenger, not driver.

Day 3 - I got a good cardio in (20 minutes on the Eliptical Trainer), then a full lower body weight training.  A little later, I took a 30 minute walk outside.

Day 4 - I walked for about 30 minutes, but didn’t get to the gym that day.

Have a great, Everyone!

You’re doing great! Do you walk outside in that cold, cold weather?
