Okay, I’m at the biggest I’ve ever been in my life.  My family has a history of heart disease, and I really want to be around for my children.  I’ve changed my eating habits, now I’m ready to start moving!  My problem is time, but I’m trying to get motivated enough to work around that issue.  I recently discovered Motivation to Move in the iTunes Podcasts, and they’ve really been a great help to me.  Wish me luck!

Welcome! What kind of schedule do you have? Maybe one of us can offer some advice in that area.

I get up at 5:30 every morning and fix breakfast for my son.  My husband comes home from work at 6 am to dress our son.  After I clean up from breakfast, I get dressed for work, and leave at 7:15, I take my son to school, to be at work by 8.  I get home at 5:30 from work, then I fix supper.  My husband leaves for work as soon as I get home.  After I clean up from supper, I go over spelling words, do therapies (my son is autistic), bath and put him to bed.  Once he’s in bed, I have time to do laundry and other such household projects.  I cannot take him to the daycare at the gym because he has special needs, and they don’t accept them into their care center.  I don’t have a more hectic schedule than anyone else, I am just unable to take my child with me, which a lot of parents do here.  I live in a small town, with not a lot of resources.  I have ordered several exercise videos, and have been alternating them everyday, so I’m getting better at working it into my schedule!

How old is your son? I’m a disability aid at a preschool here, and they are so sweet.

Well, mornings are definitely out, you already get up way early. The videos will be a lot of help, what did you order? I have a great collection, occasionally I’ll still use one, though I have a nice home gym started.

What time does your son go to bed? Just 30 minutes a day will do amazing things.

I ordered Walk Away the Pounds, some Tae-Bo, two Dance Aerobics tapes, and a few more aerobics tapes.  I wanted to make sure I had a variety so I don’t get bored.  My son goes to bed around 8 every night, and that’s when I do my videos.  Yesterday was my second consistent day!

So, I brought my workout gear to work today.  It’s surprising at how supportive the people around me are, and how easy it is right now to work around everything that I thought would be an obstacle.  Next week will be the true test, when hubby goes back to work.  But, I have my videos, and my motivation, and I’m ready to go!  After 3 days of moving and eating healthy, I already feel better!

Hi Angel…

Welcome to the forum, and its very nice to meet ya! Sounds like your finding some pretty creative ways to work in some activities. Your doing awesome!  I own the Walking Away The Pounds video myself, and its awesome. Try getting the entire series, believe me you will love them all.  Stay positive and remember to treat yourself once a month, you deserve it!

I have the 2 mile walk, and I love it!  I can do it in the smallest spaces, and even without all the bells & whistles (i.e. weights).  I am looking forward to getting the other videos.  They’re great for more than a rainy day!  Thanks for your support!

You go girl, great job at getting your steps in!  Walking is how I lost 105 Ilbs, so just remember your not in this alone.

Have a great weekend.

Day 6 = 30 minute Walk Away the Pounds

Hubby’s work week started on Friday, and he works from 6 pm-6 am.  Which is to say, he leaves when I get home, and comes home just in time for me to leave.  This is where I’m really going to feel the challenge of getting to workout.  I can see that my new videos are REALLY going to come in handy.  I’m dedicated, though, and I really want this.  I’m looking forward, though, to the end of his work week, when I’ll be able to go to the gym again.  I found that I really enjoyed it last week.

I’ve spent the weekend creating lower fat/calorie versions of my family’s favorite meals.  My husband actually started before I did, and I can REALLY tell that he’s taken off some pounds.  I can’t wait until I can see the same thing in myself!

Welcome to the forum. Can you get a bit of exercise in at work? Are there any stairs to climb? Do you get a break that you can use to do some walking? Every bit of extra motion that you can get in is going to help you over the long run.

There are stairs, and I have taken to climbing them instead of the elevator.  Unfortunately, I work in a call center, and lunches/breaks are rare for me.  I usually eat a Lean Cuisine at my desk.  I’m trying to work in every little bit of exercise that I can.  Today makes 1 full week, and I can really feel the difference!

Day 7
25 minutes Prevention’s Walk Your Way Slim

This was the first time that I’ve done this video.  It was MUCH more aerobic than the other one that I’ve been doing, but I was ready to try something different!  I was not able to make it all the way through the video, but I had fun trying!  I’m looking forward to doing that one some more, so I can see what else is on it.

Today completed my first week of the 100 Day Challenge.  I worked out 6 of the 7 days, and I feel great.  I feel motivated, and I’m so ready to continue on my journey.  I can really feel the difference that getting off my butt and moving makes.  I can’t believe I waited so long to do it!

I really feel like something has clicked.  I told my husband yesterday that I was sick of having to find creative places to buy clothes, that I wanted to be able to shop where ever I want to.  I can feel the difference in my body, and I’m really looking forward to being able to buy a smaller size in summer clothes!
